For those new to me, I protect my family by giving them very appropriate nicknames.

Partner: Sacnurse (bc she is a highly skilled nurse here in Sacramento.

Beauty: Trans daughter. bc she is.
My partner has a four year BSN degree. A Master of Nursing and a Master of Public health degree.

She isn’t considered a professional.

Oh, but wait…she also has a Bachelor of Religious Education degree that she has rarely used.

That degree makes her a professional.

Elements which have been shown to cause housing prices to be too high:

—Hedge Funds and institutions buying up homes.
—AirBNB and clones
—Uber low interest rates in early 2000s and 2010s
—NIMBY development decisions.
—Construction costs and labor shortages.

Not on the list? Immigrants.

I verified that Theology is in fact one of the fields on a very short list the Big Beautiful Bill claasifies as "Professional"

Everyone cheered the nurses when they saved us all during the pandemic.

And now, they’re not “professionals”?

This is a kick in the groin Prez Kevin.

I know several dozen current and former SWs, and I can confirm they are the most genuine, kind, and loving people I know.

I have not met an exception yet.

They are also fun to be around.
All of the most wholesome people I know are sex workers.

After seeing the expansive list of degrees the Department of Education no longer considers "professional" for Federal Student Loan status, does anyone know which degree categories are still considered "professional":

Laziness is an empty word. It actually refers to other conditions:

• fatigue
• avoidance
• fear
• misalignment of incentives
• lack of clarity
• lack of support
• neurodivergence
• depression
• burnout
• competing commitments
• insufficient recovery time

You're not lazy.
Stop it.

Memory reconsolidation offers hope for trauma therapy. If a traumatic memory is reactivated under the right conditions, and then paired with contradictory information or a new emotional experience, its emotional intensity can diminish.

In IFS, we meet with our younger Self in a memory.

Re: Inner Critic

There are several books on the market regarding our inner critic--ie, that voice who shames us for every mistake and tells us we are not worthy.

These books tell you to ignore the IC, eliminate them, call them a jerk, etc.

IFS tells you to befriend them.

Re: Memory Reconsolidation, researchers have determined that memories can be changed.

Each time you recall a memory, you have a limited amount of time to rethink details and meanings.

It is like editing a computer file and then saving it.
In this case, you will always lose the original file.

Call me old-fashioned, but calling neurodivergence by the “neurospicy” label makes me think I should give them a Taco Bell coupon after the conversation.

People accuse me of being an atheist now. The reality may shock some, but I think many can identify.

Recent articles/videos are claiming that Iceland (and sometimes Denmark, Germany, and Spain) are solving homelessness by offering the unhoused foldable shelters that are heated and run on solar power.

While a great idea, they are not true.
I became skeptical after one video showed too many fingers.

It’s no coincidence that the movie “Nuremberg” is coming out just as Kevin and the Marauders are slipping dangerously below the critical # of supporters.

There will be another Nuremberg.

On our soil.

It will be a national purging of the White Nationalist/Evangelical/Billionaire/SCOTUS coalition.

Socialism doesn’t believe the government can do a better job than private industry.

Socialism believes that a government given a mandate can do the job with equity to all, and without a view toward making a profit.

Profiteering in healthcare, education, and the prison system is killing all of us.

I haven’t read anything in the NY Times for a few years now. Their journalistic integrity is gone, gone, gone.

But I am not sure what happened. I used to read it all the time before the pandemic.

Can someone fill me in? Was there an ownership change? They used to be more left-leaning.
