Just learned I spooked the American Cochlear Implant Alliance so much with my Lancet commentary they called it out in their January newsletter. I can receive no higher compliment so you can find the Lancet paper here: www.thelancet.com/journals/lan... 1/2
Primary health-care practices for deaf children should include early incorporation of a signed language
For the optimal care of deaf and hard-of-hearing children, primary care paediatricians and family practitioners should consider signed language acquisition normal and healthy. Early acquisition of a s...

Today is Disabled Day of Mourning, to honor disabled people killed by caregivers. Fellow journalists, when we write about these situations, we need to clearly call it murder, and not through a"poor caregiver" lens.

Another beautiful ParkLore post. Recommended reading for students of the medium 🎢🏰🎡
Today, I want to share one of my favorite weird niche theme park storytelling projects: my PARK PATHS art series. Here, I wanted to capture the "personalities" of the parks we love by looking at the negative space we often overlook – their pathways!

With attacks on NIH, I'm thinking about the fact it took until 2023 for the department to add people with disabilities to health disparity research, which @bonnieswenor.bsky.social pushed hard for. Some equity pushes are quite new, and attacks on DEI put them in danger. hub.jhu.edu/2023/10/02/n...
