Addition photos of traffic violence in this location in past three years. Even these concrete barriers can’t protect pedestrians and cyclists against traffic.

I live 6 miles from 96th and Zionville , entire way from home has multiuse cycling paths. my old office at 79th / Zionsville was unreachable without taking a big risk. I have actually cycled 96th -> 86th a few times and it's pretty scary. Even in a car, 96th/71st is dangerous. many bad drivers.

Nice of city officials and IMPD to finally wake up and take notice to what the public has been screaming about for 5+ years now: IMPD’s refusal to do traffic enforcement combined with our overbuilt infrastructure have made our streets unsafe.

I assume the pedestrian hit and run on Zionsville Rd was between 71st and 96th streets. Scores of businesses and at least a dozen #IndyGo stops but that entire 3 mile stretch has only 0.2 miles of sidewalk (and that fragment is only on one side of the street). Shameful.

As Mayor, Andrea Hunley would be a champion for safe streets in Indianapolis — significantly more so than the Hogsett/Osili administration has been.

Run, Andrea, Run! 🤞🏻

Councilor Osili has shown almost as little interest in Street Safety as Mayor Joe himself.

Vision Zero will live or die based on how much it is prioritized by the next Mayor.

We can’t afford years more of disinterest if we want Vision Zero to succeed.
