I’ve seen a lot of people make jokes about this like “oh 2002 was so long ago” but those early Bush Era AUMFs have been used ever since, including by Obama, by presidents to do whatever they want as they claim that this AUMF loosely applies to any other Middle East thing.

Whole project was green lit at a new location a couple years ago. Small group of people w personal neighborhood interest got mad and loud about it. Few of them got on the school board. Restarted the project. Now, no progress and the price has gone up like $30M cuz of tariffs/inflation. We’re idiots.

My town desperately needs a new middle school. We probably needed a new middle school when I was a student there 100 years ago. Old locals with no kids are mad and think schools shouldn’t cost that much to build. It’s a nightmare.

My current fav is the Historic Vacant Church that they preserved to ensure it stays vacant for another decade.
