Well, that's... :sigh: I got a major case of burn out. Which is not at all surprising, honestly. So I've put it aside for now.

I'm playing around with another idea...not sure it will go anywhere, but it at least keeps my creativity flowing.

Personally? I don't have an issue with it. Unless it's "little one." That one gives me the ick. But I think the unique pet name is kinda...cute? Especially if it highlights a characteristic of the FMC.

I saw a video today talking about pet names MMC's give FMC's... specifically in the romantasy genre. Things like "little bird" or "starlight." She said most are infantilizing. O_o

If you’ve ever loved a book by a (living) author and thought hey I ought to write that author a nice email to letter etc., and then you thought, nah, that’s weird. . .you should totally do it. Odds are your fave is a fragile anxious creature who will feast on your love.

The FMC in this book I'm reading is so insufferable, I want to strangle her.

The MMC is explaining why he kept a major secret from her (something I normally hate, but the logic is sound this time) and she refuses to listen.

I have this leather cube footstool that I use under my desk. It was too short, but it was better than nothing. Hubby 3D printed me some feet and I glued them to the bottom. Used my TBR to make sure the glue cured correctly. Well. Part of it anyway.

I keep seeing videos on my FYP that say "The only way to be a writer is to__" And it just burns my biscuits. The only thing you HAVE to do is write. That's it. And you don't have to write every day for hours at a time.

Give yourself some grace. Write what you can when you can. Ignore the BS.

I made an oops. One of Claire's Familiars was named Peppermint for the longest time. I changed it to Aengus, or Gus for short. I did a Find and Replace completely forgetting about Claire's fav drink. This is the result. 🤦‍♀️

To be fair, I have no idea what I'm doing. I have rudimentary Photoshop skills... *very* rudimentary... I am not a graphic artist by any means.

The colors are significant and tie into the story. And so does the cupcake, honestly. It's the background that's giving me fits, I think.
