I know it's trendy for progressives to criticize anything that makes anyone feel good as being performative and ineffective, but these protests, and other actions, remind me that I'm not alone. It makes me think that this can still be my home.

What Easthampton mayoral candidate JT Tirrell said tonight about our public safety being compromised by the number of calls by our district to our police station is not true. I don't have the exact numbers now but I am getting them. This is something he made up off the top of his head.

Seeing a lot of local right wing Facebook groups lighting up with people upset about the OSEP layoffs. I've always said that special education is one of the most bipartisan issues in this country, and maybe that turns out to be right.

Every time this happens I see this question so please spread this far and wide. Regardless of who we have or don't have working at the Department of Education, disabled children are still entitled to *free and appropriate education in the least restrictive environment.* The law has not changed.

If you move to a majority white community, and complain about how there is no Spanish immersion elementary school option for your kid, when racially integrated districts that offer those programs are ten minutes away, I am skeptical about your commitment to bilingual and multicultural education.
