It was fun to officially reveal our latest named @lner.co.uk Class 91 loco this morning: "National Railway Museum 50 Years 1975-2025", featuring a stunning livery design by @samjessupdesign.bsky.social, cleverly weaving the NRM and LNER brands whist celebrating the museum's history and its future 🙌

Yesterday, had the thrill of my livery design work unveiled on the famed turntable in the Great Hall at the National Railway Museum, celebrating 50 years of this great institution, on an @lner.co.uk Class 91. Huge thanks to @gawuffy.co.uk for the incredible effort to bring the design to the rails!

When in Knaresborough... a pint and a Turbostar. Nice beer, noisy company! 🍻😉👍

Aaaannddd relax. The start of another (very long) camper weekend is ahead - from our first stop at Poolsbrook near Chesterfield, we're bound for Knaresborough, Harrogate and York. Have a great weekend all! ☀️😎👏👍

Another Sam Jessup Design branded fleet hits the rails - LNR's 730 internal and external branding was developed by me and the talented team at West Midlands Trains back in late 2018... from design brief to track takes a few years! Great work LNR & Alstom ❤️👍
Today saw the London Northwestern Railway 730/2s launched to the railway media with a press run from EUS to MKC using 730205. The 5-car trains enter service on Monday with the 16.19 EUS-Northampton being the first service. Thanks also the LNR for a rare opportunity for a short cab ride on the WCML!

A proper railway legend... in front of a Class 91! Incredible work by you and the LNER team as always, Gareth! 😎👍
Privileged to be able to join today's #225Day flagship service behind (or rather, in front of) our newly-named Class 91 locomotive no. 91106 "Swallow". Bringing this today to the tracks was a heck of a lot of work, and it was an honour to be a part of the brilliant project team who made it happen 🙌

A fabulous museum curated by the wonderful Tim Dunn has opened on board 1A30! He's seen chatting to Paul who has worked these trains since their introduction in 1989.

Check out that InterCity 225 phone brought for the occasion by Aidan, our lovely Admin Assistant!

Today is the first ever #225Day celebrating our InterCity 225 fleet. These East Coast stalwarts have carried generations over millions of miles since 1989.

To mark the occasion, we're proud to unveil that 91106 has been named 'Swallow' after the iconic InterCity emblem of grace and speed.

What a stunning day for it too!

Nameplate (and 225 day logo) designed by me, on behalf of LNER, with a little quirk...

Different nameplates on each side, so the swallow icon sits on the 'leading edge' of the plate, pointed forwards, as it used to be on the original Inter-City 225 livery 😉👍
More pictures of the newly named 91106 “Swallow”? Well why not!

Here are some lovely detail shots from Neville Hill depot in Leeds yesterday afternoon, captured by Jonny Dye.

Check out that gorgeous InterCity swallow on the grille! 😍

Just discovered the name of the local farm round the corner from where I live. Should I be worried? Or rather, should my innie be worried? #severance

Trains designed and built for Grand Central. Not hand-me-downs. If anyone needs me, I'll he picking myself up off the floor in shock.

Seriously, I kinda love that lil' TOC... yes, I know it's Arriva behind it... but it's great to see the brand aiming to survive the all-encompassing GBR monolith.

It's cool, it's colourful, it's Kukenhoef... the power of flowers, looking stunning in the Dutch sunshine 🇳🇱☀️💐

Uuuuuu-trecht... what a beauty of a city! ☀️😎👍

Bye bye Blightly! Off on a week of Dutch/Belgian adventures... unfortunately not likely to feature too many trains but I'm sure I can squeeze a one or two in here or there... 🇳🇱🇧🇪☀️🚢👍

I'm a big fan of brave and different transport design, and this is different. And brave. And frankly, more than a little bit stunning.

There's something about that Condor livery, when their aircraft are all lined up like this, it just looks... where'd I put my "chef's kiss" emoji?

Loved this vid, but it was weird to see the Virgin/LNER Mk3 interiors I led through design of, being used across the atlantic! Nice that HSTs are getting a spot of retirement/reuse in the Mexican sunshine 🇲🇽☀️👍
Over the past few days, I was in Mexico to take a closer look at the new Tren Interoceánico! One of the lines uses former British HSTs for its service.

I will publish the thread later next week, but in the meantime, a new video is now live on YouTube! 👀🇲🇽🚆

Been desperate to get my hands on one of these so finally!... an OO gauge Hornby version of my Virgin NRM40 livery, from 10 years ago.

Loved designing this loco, the reaction it got from the press and public, and paying tribute to 40 years of the fantastic National Railway Museum!

One of the most spectacular railway journeys I've ever done - a proper bucket list experience - you really get to understand just how incredibly massive, magnificently beautiful and utterly beguiling those United States truly are. 🇺🇲❤️👍
Here’s the @amtrak.com #CaliforniaZephyr coming out of the Moffat Tunnel on its way to California! 🏔️ ❄️ 🚆

Flashback to when red, radical 225s ruled the roost at KGX. As much as I miss my design days at Virgin Trains, it's heartening to know there's new brands and new faces (plus new trains) taking the industry to new creative places. And heck, that 225 does look good in its new/retro LNER outfit, too 😎😉

Endlessly waiting for the summer, for more road tripping adventures with my two favourite things in the world... my camper and my wife (not necessarily in that order btw!) 🚐🌤😎👍

One of the greatest reinventions of an iconic railway livery I've ever seen - using the best of the past to create something just as stunning for the future - you should be rightly proud of this fabulous bit of work Gareth 👏👏👏
It's three years already since I was checking over final revisions of the livery drawings before giving the green light for the repaint to begin on our InterCity 225 fleet. For such a simple looking result this was probably some of the most intricate work I've ever done 😅

March 2016 (8 yrs ago) my photo of the first Azuma to receive any form of branding, rolling out of North Pole depot (not your usual ECML location!)

A red and racy launch livery designed by yours truly; shape elements of which still exist in the current Azuma livery, minus the "V" word of course 😉
