Kudos to Vancouver Councillor Pete Fry- 6 years of advocacy for 30 kmh driver speeds (20 mph) in Vancouver neighbourhoods. The Province didn't provide needed authority but Vancouver Engineer Paul Storer comes up with an elegant solution. Read below.

I travel through airports with bicycle reflectors on luggage that say "City of Vancouver". This trip to Ottawa is first time people have stopped me in the airports to say exactly what they think about City Hall, the management & the direction the City is going. None of it was kind. It was angry.

The Vancouver ABC Council majority taken away public process & undermined neighbourhoods in favour of BATA-Build A Tower Anywhere. Now stripping community services to achieve zero property tax increase. 600 citizens speaking to say NO to that.Copy link for discussion.

Take a look at historic & picturesque town of Brockville Ontario on St. Lawrence River-2 lanes on Main Street, flexible parking and really wide broom finished sidewalks, with lots of small shops with articulated facades. In an hour this space will be bustling with locals walking, talking & shopping.

Current Mayor and ABC majority of Vancouver city Council embarked on a lot of initiatives that did not involve the electorate who actually voted for them. Tried to get rid of the city’s park board without a ballot from citizens. It’s just part of the Americanization of City Hall under this regime.

This painting I did shows Mary Louise and I hurrying for a streetcar on a Friday night date in the 1980s’. Hey you in the capri, watch out! Can you see the TD tower? TGIF!

Independent media is so important. 7 million people across the United States showed up at these demonstration walks, which were peaceful. Almost no reporting on this. This is not the report’s fault. This is because media is not independent.

It’s market rental folks! Should the city of Vancouver be in the business of providing market rental units that are not scaled for the actual income of people in Vancouver? Is this really what the city of Vancouver should be involved in instead of affordable co-op units? What a travesty.

Be like the mayor of London. It’s easy to be trained in a quick session how to use these defibrillators. There are instructions on them if you need to learn as you use them.

Kudos to Vancouver secondary students that insisted on them being in schools. They simply save lives. Get them everywhere.
Defibrillators save lives.

That’s why City Hall is investing £150,000 to support the London Ambulance Service in getting more of these life-saving devices into our communities. This funding will help ensure more Londoners get the urgent care they need, when they need it most.

We know speeding is incredibly dangerous and that virtually every driver (including me) is guilty of it.

Let’s break with the past.
-suspend drivers for excessive or repeat speeding
-lower speed limits to what is actually safe
-automate enforcement with speed cameras anywhere there are kids
This story is heartbreaking.

Billions of dollars of structures destroyed, thousands of people lost their houses, 12 people lost their lives. And it appears it was a young Uber driver who actually created an image on ChatGPT of people fleeing for their lives from fire that started the whole thing.

In 2025, he voted against it happening for a budget presentation with potentially $100 million in cuts because his newly appointed city manager told him no.
