Here are some of the stages I went through while coming up with an illustration for the zine. Since I was charged with making the cover image, I felt I needed something to include the main cast of characters.

During Phase 1 and 2, I wanted to change up the posing of Skeleton King.

The second check-in for the zine where we needed to have a set idea. I was still trying different arrangements for the characters at this time but was getting closer to the final.

Reflecting a year later, this was a really fun project for me to reconnect with others in a shared love for something. I was asked to create the cover art & honestly? I wish I had done better. The zine and fans deserved better.

Despite it all, I am glad I participated. It was a learning experience.

I first saw this show as a teenager, charmed by the characters and wild adventures they went through. My favorite character has always been Skeleton King~ 😈

Last year was the 20th anniversary of a little cartoon called "Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce GO!"

Fans came together to create a zine to show our love for the show. This was my contribution. It was an honor to participate & reconnect w/ other fans :)

The upper half is a colorful splash of light with Antauri (black) looking over his team. The Super Robot (left) stands guard as a protector with Nova (yellow), SPRX (red), and Gibson (blue) ready to defend against evil. Otto (green) in the distance jumps excitedly towards adventure. Chiro (the boy) channels the Power Primate to take on any threat.

The main villain, the Skeleton King (bottom) smiles wickedly as his cloak swirls around encompassing the Hyperforce and the planet Shuggazoom behind.

The character takes hold of one paper person, squishing them in between their fingers, seemingly uncaring towards the love given to them. Their chest is bandaged with cracks over the heart, an aching emptiness breaking them from inside. Despite having love, care, and attention from others, the person seems ungrateful... whether that is with themselves and their reactions or towards what they have, the answer unknown to them.

I’ve impaled my arm with a branch today doing yard work & now my arm is misshapen from swelling (it’s a minor puncture wound so no worries) I also burnt myself today. Twice. Tripped over a rock.

To finish, there is no relevancy to this post other than to tell you I am extremely accident prone.
