probably the biggest issue facing chicagoland transit right now is that an enormous number of trips that could easily be made with transit are being made in private cars, and if we want to investigate why mode share is hemorrhaging right now, stuff like this is why
Props to the Sun-Times for immediately following that paragraph with noting that Phase One will include "a large parking podium" with 300 parking spaces. TOD isn't just a real estate buzzword, it should mean something

kyle tucker is a very good player and all, a consistent 4.5 WAR per year is really valuable, but the highest-ever AAV contract? $60 million a year? that's a bit crazy

Went to go say goodbye to State/Lake on Sunday. I saw one other person taking photos, but beyond that, you'd never know anything was different. The last day of service for CTA's centerpiece station was, cold, quiet, and unceremonious, much like the station itself.

My submission! I never landed on an exact hue I liked for the colors, but I still think it was a good design. I've seen lots of other designs I like a lot too! A lot of people did a lot of great work. The official results, I fear, did not reflect the creativity I've seen from people in these threads
You'll see reinterpreted versions of the sunrise from the state seal in many of my favorites. It's a powerful, attractive piece of existing state iconography that lends well to repurposing.
