people have mistaken trolling for working heel. A good heel is somebody who makes you want to pay money to see them get beaten up or humiliated. If they annoy you, frustrate you, anger you, anything else, and it *doesn't* translate into you spending money, they're not a good heel.
"If you don't like it, then they are doing it right" is the laziest excuse for dumb heel shit a wrestler may bring to an angle

People have some rightful criticism, and if your idea of good heel work is "Well, they made you mad, so they do good" then I beg you to raise your standards

A timely reminder that the lyrics to Deck The Halls scan perfectly to the tune of War Pigs by Black Sabbath.

Let the record show that I still think MJF is a case study of how talented people can give into all their worst shitty smarky impulses and become a net negative for pro wrestling.

I am entirely fine with Cena tapping out and don't get why the crowd was so mad about it BUT it sounds like HHH got a lot of shit for it that he couldn't cope with because he's a clout-chasing manbaby and that is also entirely fine with me.

Of all the matches that could have happened, I'm really glad that Red Velvet got the rub of being the first to take a belt off Ultimo Moné. Hope it sets her up for a damn good run.

so if you lucked into owning a home that's now worth £2 million, you are just a small bean washed along by the tides of economic change and should not be expected to take responsibility for it, but if your kids stand to inherit it they shouldn't pay tax on it because you worked *really* hard for it?

I'm so glad I saw Wake Up, Dead Man in a cinema with an audience. What a gloriously weird, blackly funny, almost meditative mystery that deals with faith, guilt, religious extremism, misogyny and multiple wank jokes. Benoit Blanc is up there with Poirot.

A child poverty strategy with the 2-child limit in place would *not* be a credible child poverty strategy. *All* of the growth in child poverty since the 2011/12 low point is for children in scope of this policy.

WWE realised a while ago that the first time the women had a gimmick match, like a Rumble or a TLC match, they could put it in the main event and then never bother prioritising it again. AEW didn't even try that for Blood and Guts.

I'm having my bi-weekly crisis of "Do I genuinely talk too much, or am I just falling into the age-old misogynist trap of thinking women shouldn't take up so much oxygen?" The answer may be a bit of both.

Me, asking if I can take my gigantic Chinese leftovers home: "I didn't realise I was ordering food for two people!"

The waitress: "Yes. Maybe you come back with your friends..."

I think I've just been turned into dust.

After a quieter September for my matches of the month, I had a lot to talk about in October. Among other stuff, we have a foray into sumo, Senka's first title shot and a lot of Meiko Satomura.

Give it a read, tell a friend, you all know the deal.
