I left Twitter years ago, long before it became X (utterly stupid, good grief). But that's where "sassbender" comes from. So, new to blusky, I fell quickly into the way I used twitter back when it didn't suck. Connect, laugh, muse, think, & share - this is The Way. ❤️

Bars.
Saw a post on TikTok about Columbia taking away degrees backfiring, and it made me realize - taking Degrees is way as punishment demonstrates how these institutions believe that their mission is conferring privilege and not providing education.

Genuinely curious what the optics takeaway was intended to be here? Why were a roomful of kids staged for this??
The kid on the left giving Donald Trump the side eye before he signs his meaningless executive order to get rid of the Department of Education is all of us.

🤣

When you cancel a flight now, but can't use the flyer points they offer, this is the result.

Yup.
Forever banishing from civilization people who loudly
use genAI *is* the merciful option. They can maybe suckle on some wolf teats for sustenance.

I know too many people who have died from pancreatic cancer, including my father & my dear friend. This is huge. ❤️
90% of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die from the disease. That's why the medical community is excited about the results of a small trial in which nearly half of the pancreatic cancer patients who received an mRNA vaccine for the disease remained relapse-free three years later.
A Vaccine For Pancreatic Cancer Continues To Show Promise
In a small trial, nearly half of pancreatic cancer patients who received an mRNA vaccine for the disease had no relapse three years later.

I'm proud of Millenials. Impressed & amused by zoomers. Worried for the Alphas but glad to see their fierceness. Ashamed of about 50% of my own, Gen X - but also stoked so many of us are still punk AF. Embarrassed & grossed out by Boomers, generally. But how much of gen separation is BS, really? 🤷‍♀️

Yesterday, I took a morning dance class & then went to a 3 hour dance session in the afternoon. I am 51 years old & today my body is like: "Bitch, wtf? Yo dummy - like whyyy? Haha you are old af. 😂" (But like a good sore, you know?)

I know I live in a good neighborhood because there are no cybertrucks for like 5 streets. By "good" I mean NOT FULL OF FACSISTS. Also one of my neighbors wrote a book on community building & signed it for me. Also, it's that rarest L.A. gem: QUIET. But mostly cuz no cybertrucks. 👌🏻

The story about the lady trading in her cybertruck for a mercedes because someone called her a knot see is the perfect encapsulation of how thoroughly vapid & anti-intellectual we have become. I bet she wears crocs. #Idiocracy

RIP Carl Dean. Dolly loved you so we did too.
Condolences to Dolly Parton on the loss of her husband, Carl Dean.
A simple test of a person's character is to ask them their opinion of Dolly Parton.
If the answer isn't to the effect that she's one of the greatest people on the planet, avoid them.

I have lot of generational moments of pride but the shameful amount of Gen Xers (esp white) who voted for & support this admin is embarrassing. As an 80s kid: Very hard for me to wrap my brain around a president (et al) licking Putin's boots?? Like, WHAT IN THE EVER-LOVIN' FUCKSTICKS IS GOING ON?!

It's been over a month since American Airlines Flight 5342 and an Army helicopter collided in midair near Washington D.C.'s Ronald Reagan National, killing all 67 aboard in the deadliest U.S. air disaster since 2001.

Donald Trump still hasn't gone to visit any of the victims' families.

Was planning to do household shop today - groceries, necessaries, etc - and then realized it's a #NoBuy day. Which means I have an excuse to sew all day instead. 😎👌🏻💃

As planes continue to crash, social programs are eviscerated, communities scramble to protect themselves & others - I find myself hoping like hell anyway. Because communities ARE scrambling, gathering, & reaching out to each other.

I also cuss. A lot.

There were other beings in the house who also died when Gene Hackman died. He was 95 - lived a full, eventful, vibrant, & well-regarded life. Death is the opposite of a tragedy in that scenario. BUT. Betsy & the dog - the random circumstances - it's weird & sad, for real. Love & light. ❤️🕯🕯🕯❤️

Stayed up way past my bedtime to watch the Saturday Night Live 50 yr reunion because I missed it live. So many moments made me teary. Really glad they made me laugh too. I used to lay in the hallway, peeking around the doorway, to sneak-watch the Not Ready for Primetimers. #SNL50 😭😂❤️

Normally, I know my clients between 2-3 days, sometimes up to teo weeks. Yesterday, I said goodbye to a client (& family) I've been working with for 2 months. Such a vastly different experience - the process, the work, the ending. This work is hard, folks. But precious & fierce & inspiring. ❤️
