I'm eternally grateful to all that have supported my teaching credential journey. Unfortunately, because of complicated financial aid restrictions, I'm having a hard time paying off the rest of the summer course load costs. Any help, either by spreading the word or monetary, is greatly appreciated.

Exactly. Just shades of been there done that and I'm not about that in this time.

Some creators are able to make a meal out of the scraps they are allowed to play with, but it still means that the overall section tends to remain as close as possible to the "Oh yeah, I remember that" as possible. With occasional expansion that gets corrected ASAP when the rubber band snaps back.

Corporate visions to just keep pushing out what they always have, scared that fans will leave otherwise, while their behavior trains their smaller and smaller fanbase to only accept the same comfy nostalgic threadbare blankets.

It's amazing that we even got to have Krakoa for five years. No way that happened without them being in a mood of wanting to lure Hickman back to their side of the comic book sandbox.

As we see now, the X-Line tends to circle around the same well-trodden paths time & time again.

Out of all the characters/teams that Marvel has in their stable, the X-Men, IMO, is the one that has the most range to just get wild and unique with it. Yet, it's one of the ones, alongside Spider-Man often, where it feels that Marvel is allergic to trying something fully new.

As an almost life-long X-Men fan, it's sad how utterly boring I find anything X-related to be at this point. I want to like stuff, but the nostalgia and retreading and focus are just not for me.
scottredmond.bsky.social
I think that's the AOR book right?
scottredmond.bsky.social
Sounds about right for Modern Marvel. "Marvel: The House Of, We've Done That Before? Let's Do It Again! Ideas"

Same industry that bemoans us not showing up to watch whatever latest franchise slop they churn out is banking that suddenly the masses will be like "Actually I don't care if a film is two hours of nonsensical six fingered copy paste slop."

Blum too. At least find a new way to say "it's here to stay" jfc

Oooh those look really neat!

Good to see that Marvel's EIC is now against any sort of fakery surrounding comic book work.
scottredmond.bsky.social
The gap between DC Comics and Marvel is so wide and beyond noticeable these days.

One is embracing all their stuff, having fun, bringing in lots of different voices. The other is just coasting on nostalgia, Godzilla, and heaps more nostalgia.

What a good thing to hear from someone that is in decision making capacity at a major comic publisher. Unlike some...

"That's the point – the smudge, the rough line, the hesitation - that's what makes my work come alive." - Jim Lee talking about why DC will never use AI storytelling. "AI doesn't dream, feel or make art, it aggregates it."

@jimlee.bsky.social speaking very passionately at Retailer Day. #nycc

Rich rich people talking like they are still one of us and "understand the struggles" is just so damn gross. No clue how that was ever decided it was them being "relatable" when it's just them lying & us buying the lie.

Gavin Newsom can eat a boatload of shit.

Fuck Gavin Newsom. I will never vote for him and you shouldn't either.
Excerpt from an article discussing LGBT+ protections in California legislation. It states that Governor Newsom neither signed nor vetoed certain bills. One bill strengthened protections under Sen. Scott Wiener’s “State of Refuge” law. The highlighted portion reads: “At least four bills directly addressed trans protections,” followed by examples such as healthcare and patient confidentiality, streamlining legal name and gender changes, nondiscrimination in health insurance, and inclusive homelessness programs.

We had some fun with brackets to start off the week! Who will take it all in DC Comics ultimate knockout fight? We got some ideas!

"AI will not only pack your bag for you, it'll do it months before you even leave, sure none of it will be the stuff you wear, cause none of it will actually be your clothes (might be stolen from your neighbors) but by golly it'll (maybe) get to your destination without a thought!"

They brought it upon themselves lol

Huh, wild to see a fresh new comic book logo that is instantly easily understood when read.
