Oh friend, I'm so, so sorry for your loss.
Yes! I love the sticker creativity
Boo!! That's not the way to encourage voting.
A two-sticker day at my polling place!
Okay, I'm definitely going today!!
"Word salad" is exactly it! A friend has also been linking me articles, which has been super helpful.
Yeah, no one flocks to the polls on the first weekend of early voting because they can't wait to fill in that bubble for Andrew Cuomo.

I'm the oldest cohort of Gen X and I'm so excited to vote for Mamdani. Confusion over ballot proposals is the only reason I didn't vote yesterday.
Huh, very interesting! I'm rethinking my entire stance on the proposals, lol. I'm glad I put off early voting until later in the week. I feel like I need to mull it over some more. It's so hard to parse all the misinformation that's out there. I really appreciate your help!
Ah, that's good to know about the whole process for moving the election. And thanks for the link, that's helpful!
Yes! Desperately want fewer election seasons.
Moving our local elections to even years does seem a good way to increase turn out, but is there some downside I'm not seeing?
New York friends, what are your thoughts on ballot proposals 5 and 6? I want to early vote, but I'm undecided on these.

I'm a no on 1-4, because I'm for "forever wild" and against anything Eric Adams is for.

A digital map of NYC seems okay, is there something I'm missing?
What a beauty!! And she looks like she's settling in so well.
Haha! In honor of that, I just reposted footage of No Kings demonstrations around the world, including in places where they do in fact have kings

The world joined us and said, “No Kings.”
That's a reason to vote for him all by itself, lol.
Hee! My apartment will no longer be a tropical winter getaway.
Thank you!! It's such a relief to have some control over the environment in my own home again.
I was very concerned that after spending all that money on this upgrade it wouldn't make a noticeable difference. SO RELIEVED, omg.

And really enjoying being able to have a snuggly blanket on my bed again.
I promised to report back on the new radiator valves and...they work!! The beginning of heat season has always been a time of dread. When it was mildly chilly outside, it was, like, 87 in here even with all the windows open and fans on. Today, heat on, windows closed, and it's a comfy 74. Woohoo!!!
After nearly a decade of suffering through my overheated apartment in the winter, I finally had thermostatic radiator valves installed on all my radiators. It was so expensive, lol, but worth the investment for my quality of life. No more 90-degree nights in February, woohoo!
*crumbles to dust*

(But on the bright side, we've been friends a long time 🥰)
THANK YOU! That is a huge pet peeve with me. I find it so disruptive and irritating.
Thank you for this suggestion! I already support our local PBS, but your post made me think about how important the local PBS channel was to me when I was growing up in rural VA. So I signed up to support that one too. Yay for today's bookish teens being able to watch Masterpiece!!
