I spent a couple of hours today at The Interim Computer Museum (icm.museum) going “oooooh”.

Walking into the room holding the Thinking Machines CM-2 supercomputer stopped me in my tracks. The lights are simulated right now but restoration is underway!

We might be the only TOPS-20 site that has continued to operate since the 1990s. We currently run TOPS-20 24/7 on 5 decsystem-20 clones of which 3 allow for remote login. Interested to see TOPS-20 EXEC which influenced the Symbolics LISP Machine?

Things are winding down a little at VCF Montreal (I’m hearing the weather isn’t looking to the south of here) but the show so far has beaten everyone’s expectations!

This MITS Altair 8800 kit was partial assembled with some errors but never completed. It sat for decades but now it has finally been corrected and completed with a new power supply. Here it is running its first game program.

I cannot believe just how massive VCF MidWest has gotten.
Room block registration opened almost two days ago and occupies something close to 75% of the hotel. At last look the block reservation was 90% full.
I really wish the best for everyone who is going this year because it's gonna be big!
