At this point I have to just accept that if Taylor Sheridan created/wrote it I’m going to love it.

Turned out to be 17 terabytes of uploaded Internet Archive-scanned books to the Internet Archive. We already had them!
I am so inclined to make some sort of metaphorical reference to this,. but it is its own metaphor:

Please do not upload books scanned by the Internet Archive to the Internet Archive.

A surprising number of people are doing this! You're literally wasting hardware and money at the joint!

The “worst of the worst” Venezuelans deported to El Salvador’s CECOT prison weren’t the worst: nearly all had no violent convictions, many entered the US legally, and gang labels relied on tattoos—not evidence, reports Cato’s David Bier.

DHS Doesn’t List CECOT Prison Deportees in Its Worst of the Worst Data
The United States should have allowed most of these immigrants to reside and work in the country legally. They could have been economic assets to the United States, and it serves no legitimate purpose to send them back to, at best, horrific conditions in Venezuela and, at worst, more persecution.

"trying to communicate" is a funny word to describe throwing insults at people and blocking anyone who pokes holes in argument.
Never thought I’d be in a position to say this, but talking to Mark Cuban is like trying to communicate with a brick wall

I’m not Christian, but I’m familiar enough with the lore to know using a torture device which will eventually kill a guy is a weird way to try and celebrate his birth. Hey kid, Happy being born day! Here’s a glimpse of the horrific death you are going to suffer in a few decades!

One of my first steps in my effort to use Bluesky more often is to immediately and unceremoniously unfollow/block anyone complaining about artists.

As a conservative college student, it’s my firm religious belief that the correct answer to every question, in this test or any other, is C, and if you don’t give me full credit then you are taking away my freedom of religion and secret police should take you away to protect free speech.

As always with Klobuchar, she actually flubbed this badly. By flipping from Kimmel to Trump on social media she leaves this huge opening, which Carr takes, for him to claim she's trying to censor social media.

And in her case, that's true. She's been pushing Internet censorship for years.
Amy Klobuchar just tore FCC Chair Brendan Chair a new one over his hypocritical stance that Trump supporters deserve all the free speech but liberals shouldn't get any at all

Hi Crowd! I decided that December was going to be my month to get my digital life in order. Or at least somewhat better organized than things had become over the last few months/years. My initial grand scheme was to divide the month by weeks, each week tackling a different aspect and then spending all week working on just that. While I haven't stuck to this roadmap exactly, I've made a ton of progress and I thought I'd send out a little note about it as some of the changes are public and at least this way it's documented.

Hi Crowd! Some rando once said "Find something you love to do and you’ll never have to work a day in your life." You'll hear this repeated all the time from thought leaders and life coaches trying to show you how happy they are compared to how miserable you are and that in exchange for a small amount of your hard earned monies, perhaps on a recurring monthly basis, they can guide you and encourage you to find the thing you love to do so you can stop working.

Pessimism is easy. It feels lazy.

Being an optimist takes thought and consideration. It’s much more exciting.
