Trump’s attack on Venezuela suggests expansionism is under way but some argue it is simply standard US foreign policy stripped of hypocrisy

I can say, having seen most of these, that it’s a wonderful collection of films and you wouldn’t have regrets if you systematically worked your way through the list. A great starter pack for Canadian film.

David Frum's latest anti-Native rights piece in the Atlantic is so misinformed, so carelessly put together that he confused the band number with the population. Kwikwetlem is band code 560 - an administrative number from ISC. The population is 153. 1

The Atlantic has updated their article to correct some of Frum's mistakes. However they didn't correct his denialist stuff. I work 50 meters from a lab where they recently identified a body recovered from a GPR search. A child who died at residential school, and was finally returned to their family.

Am I the only one who gets a real kick out of citation chains? Reading people's writing and footnotes, and making assessments and notes, finding the sources in the footnotes and reading them yourself, and making more notes?
I...love it?
Not for academics it isn’t. You learn by reading and by following citation chains and talking to other people in the field. Letting the AI do the summary is abdicating your job.

Residential school denialists - who hitched their wagon to OneBC (which has now imploded over support for a neo-Nazi who has openly denied the Holocaust) - are now trying to move on with their rage stunts without the OneBC baggage - but the damage’s been done.

OneBC is ripping itself apart, just a week after making residential school denialism its singular obsession, and you absolutely love to see it.
And just like that - OneBC party looks like it will split amongst itself - and a party with only one member is not an official party in British Columbia. This coincides with the loss of senior staff within the organization today #bcpoli

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, residential school denialism is a loser movement: it’s anti-Indigenous content created by losers for losers who want to denigrate dead Indigenous children on the internet rather than put truth before reconciliation.
