There's a bunch of new followers this weekend who I think clicked because of a poetry post so let me introduce myself. I'm Jeff, a Creative Director & photographer in Dirt City, Alberta. I do share poetry here but mostly my pictures (including NSFW ones), and some of my silly little thoughts.
Sometimes comedy is more truthful than news.

Today's 2016 flashback photo is a semi candid portrait of my theatre school classmate Anna that I snapped during a break in a burlesque show I was filming at the old Evolution Wonderlounge.

I had the car in for an oil change yesterday so the walk to the coffee shop was an opportunity to test out the new 9mm wide angle lens I got after Christmas.

I'll be honest. Righteous folks in Alberta should be preparing for this shit as well. Smith isn't starting an Alberta Police force to protect the citizenry from the Feds or whatever.
Posts from Minneapolis residents read like they'll be read in voiceover in a Ken Burns-like doc one day

Why does every single "cooking hack" on Instagram seem specifically designed to fill me with rage?

Right, it's because outrage creates the highest levels of engagement on SM and those videos are about getting those accounts views, not helping you cook better.

Back in 2016 I worked as a producer on Season 4 of the sketch comedy show Caution May Contain Nuts. I brought a camera to set almost every day so I'll share some BTS photos with you. Here's 1 actor, 4 lewks. I present Master of sketch comedy disguise, Sheldon Elter. The HMUA on CMCN were amazing.

I really am coming around to the idea that a Parliament selected by a random lottery of citizens on a 3 year term with no back to back terms would be a much more and egalitarian way to govern our nation.

Went for a walk after dinner last night and brought my camera. Grateful for folks who still have lights up on these dark nights.

Me, and especially my 54 year old back, really want to thank the City of Edmonton for leaving the giant ass windrow blocking my driveway today. The 50+ lbs chunks of ice were especially rewarding to shovel.

I also probably need to admit that FNL is almost solely responsible for my fetish for "dirty frames" in my film work.
Decided to revisit Friday Night Lights and I know the series is uneven and has some real low points, but goddamn the pilot is unbelievably good.
