There's a bunch of new followers this weekend who I think clicked because of a poetry post so let me introduce myself. I'm Jeff, a Creative Director & photographer in Dirt City, Alberta. I do share poetry here but mostly my pictures (including NSFW ones), and some of my silly little thoughts.
This is why I always buy a random book of poetry whenever I'm picking up any other book in a bookstore.
Literally buying one copy of a book at your local indie bookstore can mean the difference in whether they buy future books from that author.

Today's portraits of the day are of my uber talented friend Elena. These were taken at Jen's birthday party last year. Actors are the absolute best to photograph man. They can't help but perform.

Listen man, there's probably only about 50 Albertans who really want a pipeline either. The rest of us know it's a fools errand.

This Edmonton produced CBC doc series has been on my watchlist since the summer. I could watch literal hours on Industrial design. Love it!

BREAKING: This is huge news, the EU's equivalent of the 🇺🇸Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges ruling.

🇪🇺Court of Justice just ruled all 🇪🇺countries must recognise same-sex marriages granted in other member states.

This effectively legalises gay marriage across 🇪🇺

If you're ever looking to witness the absolute dregs of humanity, just pop into the replies of any prominent woman journalist and a chorus of chuds will be there waiting to be blocked and reported.

One of the things I'm most proud about at my job is our company culture and how much stability we've got in terms of our staff. My boss Adriana is on a virtual panel tomorrow speaking about how we've cultivated this. I'd really recommend checking it out.

90% of deep fake images online are non-consensual pornographic images of women and girls.

And yet, these images are not yet illegal in Canada.
Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This year's theme is digital abuse.

Fewer than 40% of countries have laws protecting women from cyber harassment or cyber stalking. This leaves 44% of the world’s women and girls without access to legal protection.

This is 100% true because I couldn't actually tell you the cost of building out the active transportation network other than to say it's a fucking fraction of the BILLION dollars we're pouring into the fucking Yellowhead freeway project.
We seem to only bring up the price of a public project when we have criticisms of it. Pro-road expansion folks barely know the $$$ for snow removal annually, but can tell you immediately the price of the active transportation network.

So...I joined a photography club in August...and I quit that photography club last week. It turns out that for the most part, I just really don't gel with or particularly like hanging out with most photographers. Not sure if it's them or me, probably me.
So be it.

A couple of years ago I offered a Studio sculpture experience. For $2000 you could spend the morning or afternoon making or watch me make a sculpture, then you get to take the sculpture home. The proceeds would go to The Stollery. Last time 3 people booked this and they all loved it.

The proliferation of mar-a-lago face in the general public is fucking terrifying and grotesque. I weep for the people radically and irrevocably altering their appearance in such a gruesome manner.
