DHS doesn’t even bother trying to lie well. The man whose skull was shattered told the hospital he’d been struck by ICE officers, an ICE officer told hospital staff the guy “got his sh*t rocked,” then when it became clear how badly he was injured, they claimed he deliberately ran into a wall.

I've been hearing this refrain lately about AI-

"Everyone uses it, some people are just honest about it."

Bullshit. I can't stop search 'summaries' popping up, but otherwise it's not something I use or want in my writing process.

Never prompted ChatGPT.
Never spent AI credits on Microsoft/Adobe.

Heartbreaking.
A woman come to our shelter with a 3 week old baby. Her family had been franticly searching for her since the birth. She and her baby had been sleeping on the floor of an ICE holding cell since the baby's birth. They are not entered into the ICE locator until they are placed in a detention center.

I should check out these small eco-social-systems.
A reminder — there are *millions* of social sites on the internet, like Storygraph for your reading and Ravelry for your knitting, etc. It’s only the biggest, run by the extremist fascists, that do these terrible things. Don’t define the internet by a handful of apps run by 5 sociopaths.

This or just dumping people *in the woods* AND sending folks out w/o their phone or I.D.

Volunteers w/ Safe Haven wait at the gate & do sweeps of the woods, with warm clothes, a burner, and a ride home, "so no one is left alone at the gate."

I spent the evening outside the Whipple federal building in Minneapolis, where the feds have been releasing people they detained — often for no discernible reason — into the freezing cold... wearing whatever little clothing they had on at the time they were taken.

I’ve been passively active on Red Note for over a year now. So unlike last time I’m not in the new wave of users. How many are new verses return, also unsure.
Will this move last longer? Will the app retain people? Time will tell, as will folks’ ability to monetize their content.

I need to find a way to thank each and every person who reposted, sent well wishes and donated! We hit our mark and then some. We’re at 102% of our goal! I am so grateful! Thank you everyone!
I spent this morning thanking people for donating to our crisis. Which is still ongoing. We've raised about ~$200/$900. This will help a little, but we do need more help. Please any assistance is beyond appreciated. Any repost, donations and even well wishes.

Any help; donations, repost and/or just well wishes is welcome. We are at about $100/$900, so we’ve got a long way to go to fill in the huge gap for our rent. Thank you to any who donate. We might still keep a roof over our head for a while longer.

Things are still desperate with our $900 dollar shortfall. Any help is welcome. Please consider donating, reposting or simply sending well wishes.
After talking things out with the family, we've made some changes. Our new target is to fill in the gap for Jan-March. This should give us time to find more stable ways to fill the gap and a solid target to reach.
Any donation, repost, and/or help is welcomed.
