Diane Keaton was always the brightest light in any film, and always someone that brought immense joy into my life any time I’d see her on screen. Witty, masterfully smart, and gifted in the art of subtlety - she was always, and will remain, simply the best.

While I don’t mind former players becoming analysts/broadcasters, it’s extremely clear which of these folks does well with public speaking and communicating, and even more clear who does not excel in these areas. #MLBsky

So, if players want to go down that path (and some are very good, re Ben McDonald), I’d strongly suggest they start taking courses on public speaking, communications, and broadcasting. There is knowledge to be gained other than “I played the game so I know what I’m doing.”

I’ve never been in the “you didn’t play the game so you can’t critique/analyze me” game that so many players (across sports) seem to play these days. Just because you never played doesn’t mean you won’t excel at teaching/coaching/analyzing/broadcasting. However, these things take work.
