If I were still blogging at “Ancient Bodies, Ancient Lives” I’d be discussing this story. How exactly does the causal chain work here? When we talk about environmental effects that contribute to human actions, that shape them, we often (not always) talk as if it’s a direct push. That’s…unlikely. 1/

An adorable #Roman toy horse on wheels, with a small hole in the nose for a string to pass through to pull the little guy along the floor. It has some painted detail including a blanket/saddle on its back; it is 1800-2000 years old - but looks just like a modern toy! 🐴 (📷BM) AncientBlueSky
