Having an increasing number of billionaires is a policy failure.
In a similar vein, the best way (most effective & cheapest) to combat homelessness is to simply provide homeless people with shelter.

My semi-regular reminder of a really important reality about cities, density, services and taxes.

The Republicans have been promising a specific plan as an alternative to Obamacare ever since it passed in 2010. The promise is 15 1/2 years old now. That's probably why they don't seem very sincerely interested in it.
Hasn’t MAGA been try’n to do that for the last 9 months?
Reactionary/Centrist = Fuck’n/Idiots
Yes. I find populism overly emotional & generally lacking in nuanced discourse. Sadly, in our current age of mass ignorance, populist overtures is one of the few vehicles capable of activating voters. However, unlike right winger, most leftist populists correctly ID problems & offer viable policies.

Good Morning.

I thought this thread summarized many of the points you made abt Biden during the 2024 campaign.
Elites hated Biden. Newsom wants their hate, too.

Is the No Kings movement the new Tea Party movement?

A THREAD.

24. For these reasons and more, elites hated Biden.

The hatred was especially sharp among corporate bosses. Biden championed their workers. He regulated their industries. He put the national interest above theirs.

15. He then implied a list: the Republicans in the Congress, Wall Street and the corporate media, elite univs and elite law firms. Missing was SCOTUS, but Newsom’s message was clear. Americans should be “disgusted” by the “cowards” who have monopoly control over the institutions of democracy.
Today’s GOP is catering to criminals, abusers, bigots & oligarchs.

“Everyone who is not able to bribe a president is struggling to pay for necessities.”
11. No Kings is already huge. Its one-day march was the biggest ever. Everyone who is not able to bribe a president is struggling to pay for necessities. Many of those folks are going to be open to a movement that gives them someone to blame. A protest of 7M people could double before you know it.

These seem to be the three legs to the Trump regime's political stool, if you consider Trump, Vought, and Miller as the three centers of power:

Corruption (Trump)
Extreme conservative ideology (Vought)
Fascism (Miller)
"Dictatorship to protect corruption" is a plausible master narrative for Trump; it squares well with J6 in particular.

But it's not the same story for Vought, who supports dictatorship to deliver on a hideously unpopular conservative ideological agenda, or Miller, who wants it to do legit fascism.
Degrees in architecture & art history tell me this dude knows nothing abt architecture & art history.

The King of Tacky is remodeling the People’s House.
We've got similar MAGA weirdos running our city. They've done everything they could to both fuck over our city in the present, but also mark public bldgs w/ MAGA nonsense & make it difficult to undo their extremist policies by changing our city charter.

They will all be erased & I'm here for it!
Trump:
>Fails daily putting on facial make-up
>Temu'd the Oval Office
>Designer of a monument to tackiness (aka The Epstein Ballroom)
>Denigrating the "People's House" room by room.

Trump is incompetence & cruelty on the inside & incompetence & tackiness on the outside.

#Lose/Lose
Same folks who also voted down the Redistricting Reform Act.
#TACO is alive & well

Trump is an incompetent coward. These traits define him & the political movement he unleashed upon America.
For MAGA, failing America & Americans is a choice.

The grifting, the child poverty, the hunger, the abject cruelty & chaos of brownshirt raids in our communities, the unaffordable healthcare & the increasing rate of inflation were all choices.

MAGA is incompetence & cruelty.
Nice Thread! I've only been to DC once, but in arch school, it was studied often.

To me, this is just another telltale sign of MAGA: insecurity. Just like the Lost Causers, MAGA sense their hateful existence will be wiped from our society. They want permanence & all these hackish projects are it.
While the shit being perpetrated against the American people by today's GOP is abhorrent, the overt lies, lame excuses & bumbling incompetence should be taken as an insult to us all.

The top three things Jesus was on about were feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and welcoming the stranger. Rich men have convinced so-called Christians to starve the hungry, gut health care, and deport the stranger to enrich themselves. It’s astoundingly anti-Christ.
Once again, today's GOP proves they care abt nothing beyond their own power.

The more suffering, difficulty & inconvenience for Americans, the better.

Dems MUST stand strong with an understanding that caving to GOP blackmail will result only in more American suffering going forward.
