Why doesn't the US have a general strike? Well you can point to culture or whatever but I think structure is of not immediate use here: does the US have organizations and institutions it can use to network, organize and mobilize a general strike? No.

Catholics who are not baptized as babies have to go through catechism school in order to convert. Then even to be considered a "serious" catholic you got to get your confirmation, which requires going to catechism or catholic school.

That is because a lot of them are not catholic, i do not mean that "they don't follow the teaching of christ" way. I mean in the literal sense, the churches that are "converting them" are fake catholic churches. So they get shocked whenever the pope is following the catechism.
