This is a wonderful thread on how to support your community members facing hunger. #MomSky
Yesterday we talked a little bit about SNAP ending and how everyone who can, should give back to their communities. I'm going to spend a little time today talking about what to give.

“A great New Yorker once said that while you campaign in poetry, you govern in prose. If that must be true, let the prose we write still rhyme” —Zohran Mamdani in his Tuesday 11/4/25 victory speech, quoting Andrew Cuomo’s father

In the audience tonight is Charlotte Bennett, one of the 13 women that Andrew Cuomo is credibly alleged to have sexually harassed while they worked in his government.

She can't speak for herself because Cuomo's lawyers have hounded her.

So I confronted him.

The cases were “resolved” by Cuomo hounding Bennet for years, at taxpayer’s expense, including with a retaliatory defamation lawsuit that he filed *after* the attorney general found that he had sexually harassed her.
wow. zohran brought one of cuomo’s accusers, charlotte bennett, to the mayoral debate. he asked cuomo what he would say to his 13 accusers of sexual harassment. cuomo said it takes “a certain level of maturity to work in government” and that the cases were resolved anyway. fucking scum.

Andrew Cuomo: taxpayers should pay for $60 million in legal bills for my sexual harassment allegations

Also Andrew Cuomo: $60 million is too much money to spend on a pilot program to deliver cheaper groceries

Sickening behavior by this agent. The fact that Mayor Adams has rolled out the red carpet for ICE is a stain on our city.
I was back at 26 Federal Plaza today, where an ICE agent violently threw this bereft woman to the ground in front of her kids. She had not touched him. She did not pose any threat. She had to be taken to the hospital. (🎥: Elias Eliahu)

I dreamt I taught a class called “Historicizing Grades.” Topics included the arbitrariness of signs, vowels vs. consonants, the “A Minus” as an oxymoron, and thinking outside the English alphabet. Final project: We worked together to transform a manicured lawn into a wild meadow.

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.

I am not suicidal. But I have been in the past, and I know that stigmatizing suicidal ideation only makes it worse.

Destigmatize suicidal ideation.

Destigmatize open, compassionate, respectful dialogue about suicide.

Some of us are still trying to heal from wounds that history pretends never happened. That is why we are tired and angry. Because our voice was never included. We’ve always had to fight to be seen.

Can the media STOP referring to Jeffrey Epstein as a “financier”? The money he made came from SEX TRAFFICKING MINORS, RAPING CHILDREN, and BLACKMAIL. He was NOT a financier. I’ve seen at least five stories from three outlets refer to him this way in the past week. This is the latest from the Times:

Fascism is here. We are not “getting closer” or “in danger of.”

This matters because it frames our discussion: We aren’t trying to prevent it, we’re trying to defeat it. It’s not taking over our institutions, it’s taken them over.

Otherwise, we’re always behind, fighting a past we’ve already lost.
