If you use CalFresh, you should have received a letter from us in the mail with info about a one-time emergency prepaid grocery card and activation instructions.

Quick CalFresh update: November CalFresh benefits have been fully restored in California. Meanwhile, the SF Emergency Grocery Card Program will continue to be available for San Francisco CalFresh recipients as a one-time emergency prepaid grocery card. More info at: sfhsa.org/calfreshaid

Great news for CalFresh users in San Francisco: November CalFresh benefits are starting to be restored across CA! That means many of you will begin to see your full food benefits back on your EBT cards -- something we’ve all been waiting for. More info: sfhsa.org/calfreshaid

Due to the federal government shutdown, CalFresh benefits won't be issued in November. However, San Franciscans who are use CalFresh will get a letter from our agency next week with instructions for accessing a one-time prepaid card that can be used at grocery stores citywide: sfhsa.org/calfreshaid

Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, CalFresh funding is at risk. If the shutdown continues past October 23, CalFresh benefits will likely be delayed in November. For more info, visit sfhsa.org/FedShutdown

⚠️Potential Impacts to CalFresh in November
If the current federal government shutdown continues past October, there will be insufficient funds to maintain the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (also known as CalFresh in CA) starting November 1.

A third-party app called “Ebt edge – food stamps” is showing up in the Apple App Store. It charges users $4.99/week or $60 for lifetime access — but this is NOT the official app.

San Francisco remains under a Tsunami Advisory. Move away from all beaches, harbor or marina docks, or piers now. Stay away from shoreline areas. Leave roads open for emergency responders and be prepared to leave by foot if roadways are blocked.
