If you live or work in an area that floods, San Francisco Public Works will provide San Francisco residents and businesses up to ten free sandbags leading up to and during severe rainstorms. Sandbags available at the Public Works operations yard, Marin Street/Kansas Street gate.

The City has charging locations available for residents still without power. While the Main Library, Richmond, and Anza branches remain offline, all other branches are open during regular hours until 5pm for device charging. Bring cables and allow extra travel time due to rain. sfpl.org/locations

Quick CalFresh update: November CalFresh benefits have been fully restored in California. Meanwhile, the SF Emergency Grocery Card Program will continue to be available for San Francisco CalFresh recipients as a one-time emergency prepaid grocery card. More info at: sfhsa.org/calfreshaid

Great news for CalFresh users in San Francisco: November CalFresh benefits are starting to be restored across CA! That means many of you will begin to see your full food benefits back on your EBT cards -- something we’ve all been waiting for. More info: sfhsa.org/calfreshaid

Due to the federal government shutdown, CalFresh benefits won't be issued in November. However, San Franciscans who are use CalFresh will get a letter from our agency next week with instructions for accessing a one-time prepaid card that can be used at grocery stores citywide: sfhsa.org/calfreshaid

If the current federal government shutdown continues past October, there will be insufficient funds to maintain the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (also known as CalFresh in CA) starting November 1.
