Well, I finally got around to doing it. I mentioned I wanted to briefly talk about something recently and here it is. A 30+ post thread of brain gooping, though much of it is just images and links. Not really in-depth at all.

Doubt anyone cares, much less likes the franchise, but I wanted to do it.
There's this particular franchise I'm very fascinated by. But despite how surprisingly massive it is, it's actually quite obscure. So much so that there's barely any coverage on it, this one blog being the only one I can even find about it.

And there we have it. While there was no doubt given IFI's track record, it's still good to get actual confirmation.

I am weirdly anticipating it.

I just wish people wouldn't be so quick to label things as trash, bad, or "mid". It's possible to play a flawed game without resorting to hyperbole, much less find reasons to genuinely enjoy them.

But I guess that's asking for too much. What with how irony filled everything has to be treated now.
It's kind of funny. I didn't really like either of them all that much but if I had to choose, I'd choose "Scarlet Nexus" as well.

Despite the nitpicks I had, especially plot-wise, all it really needed was just more polish. If nothing else, I genuinely liked the character interactions at the base.
At that point, all you need to worry about is out damaging the enemies' own HP regen. Otherwise, you do kinda softlock yourself.

Again, this is assuming this wasn't patched out. Given how utterly ridiculous this is, It could have. I actually can't find any mention of this online so I don't know.
The HP Regen will heal a KO'd character out of being KO'd. Essentially being a free revive at the start of every turn.

And to get a game over, you need to have all 8 characters (4 frontline, 4 backline) KO'd. If you just never swap to the backline, the frontline will just keep reviving infinitely.
Admittedly, I'm assuming this wasn't patched out.

But basically:
- Develop a disc with HP Regen. The lvl of the regen doesn't matter.
- Equip it to one of your frontline characters. Preferably, all four of them.
- Make sure there's at least one backline character alive.

And that's it, you win.
"Re;Birth3" has what I consider to be one of the funniest exploits I think I've ever seen in a game.

It's so simple to do, to the point you might actually do it by complete accident. And yet, it so utterly breaks the game in your favor, it's almost unbelievable.

You wanna know what it is?
Though I don't know when you'll be getting to it.

Post "Victory" is when the spin-offs start coming in so I guess it depends on how you're planning to tackle them.
I wonder how much the localization factors into the writing issues with "Victory". There were a lot of complaints about how liberally it was handled.

"Re;Birth3" was rescripted but I barely remember it.

Regardless, on the bright side, "V-II" is a notable step up as far as the script overall goes.
At best, they are thoroughly incompetent.
At worst, they have become a scam.

Either way, it's probably for the best that you don't order or preorder anything from them at this point.

It's very likely you won't receive your purchase.
Even better, they announced that they had news for something in September.

Yet hilariously, the date came and went with apparently nothing coming from them.
Here's a thread from about a week ago asking about them.

Apparently nobody has been getting anything, requests for refunds are being denied, and users are getting outright banned for asking questions on their socials.

Looking into it, they seemingly haven't released any of their 2023 listings, if not a bunch from prior as well.

They did make a big press statement at some point. It's the last one they've made to date, a little over half a year ago now.

It's all just excuses.

I tried contacting them for a refund and, as you probably can expect, was denied.

"Stock for the game is currently in production" was the reason given. Canceling would only mess up their orders so they can't do it.

That was around a year ago. So clearly that was a lie.
Ordered a PS4 physical for "Phoenotopia Awakening" back in March 25th of 2023. I've been waiting on this for 2 1/2 years at this point. Still nothing.

In fact, their listing page still has preorders open.

Say what you will about Limited Run Games, which definitely is a lot, but at least I can say that I've gotten everything I've ever ordered from them with little to no issue.

I'm convinced that Premium Edition Games is an outright scam at this point.

So take this as a PSA.
Any serious analysis of her gets lost as a result of that.

To me, she comes off as an incredibly flawed character. Someone who is potentially lonely, has trouble expressing herself, and whose true nature innately pushes everyone away due to how extreme it is.

Much less the whole doll making thing.
But seriously, joking aside, she is rather divisive.

Personally, I don't think she's a Mary Sue or anything like that. If anything, that's just a consequence of her technically being the main character, as that theory goes.

The problem I see is that both the writing and localization is circus tier
I don't know, I rather like Plutia/Pururut myself.

The contrast of how innocuous she looks vs how she actually is can be rather amusing.
Yeah, I agree, that's why I considered this to be a weird case.

Honestly, I'm just waiting to see what the gameplay is like first. Takaki seems to have no intention in the series returning to consoles so this could end up being just that. Would probably be more profitable this way too.
This is kind of a weird case cause, for all intents and purposes, the mobages basically have been the mainline games.

"New Link" directly continued the storyline left off from "EV" and concluded with Shin being defeated, the main antagonist of the series.

This new mobage is a 3-year latter sequel.
Maybe it's just me but when I saw N.B.'s design for "Kyouran Makaism", it immediately reminded me of Diez. They aren't the same of course but something about them are occupying a similar space in my head.

They feel almost gruffier and sharper compared to prior male Harada designs.
Well, if my account suddenly disappears...this will be why.
Out of everything in this thread, this is what gets auto-flagged as sexually suggestive. The power of feminine abs was too much.

I want to appeal this cause it's barely anything, especially compared to some of the other entries. But I don't know if I should be drawing attention of mods to this.
