Black TV/movie writer, "too good" coordinator of scripts, and man about town from the comfort of my room. That’s all I really need and a bag of Blue Funk. Traders, artists, “No Posts Yet” and “Hello”s in the DMs = instant blocks. Lurkers block me. He/Him.

I remain a fan of lovers, not liars and cowards.
Of ALL the days, today is the day that I learnt of Myha’la’s TikTok page, the one where she dances around with her cast members, one in particular who she calls her bestie…

How comfortable and ignorant do you have to be to say “art shouldn’t be political” with a straight face

As if that in itself is not a political statement

Lotta “art shouldn’t be political” takes going around (including from faculty at my art program) and I just have to say: wow fuck that

I don't have all the answers, but anyone convincing you to be mad at dems for what donald and the republicans are doing, shouldn't be trusted anymore than someone at your front door trying to sell you an extended car warranty.

I'm writing a book. Every working day begins with me rewriting what I wrote the day before, and the day before that. If your reaction to that is "AI could save you that trouble," I know you're not a writer. Computer programs can't sleep on it, can't dream an idea, can't suddenly realize something.

One thing you see in both the smug dope from the Plain Dealer and the Cruise/Pitt clip is profound resentment at the idea that creative work is a skill with human variables--experience, instinct, practice, imagination. There is real anger at the very idea that non-technological human talent matters.

That has been your whole life and my whole life. One side destroys everything and the other side cleans it up. The other side cleaning it up never gets enough credit for it so people go back to the one that wants to destroy things even though it's very stupid. Over and over. Rinse and repeat...

I think way too much attention is given to "what did Democrats do wrong that they lost in 2024" and not enough attention is given to "this stupid, racist, misogynistic country with amnesia loves to rotate political parties over and over again because of the previously given reasons."

The Home Box Office network better be starting Ken Leung's Emmy campaign TONIGHT.

This would be, in every way, worse than a Netflix-WB deal. No point in preserving the integrity of the theatrical experience for a company funded by a right-wing ideologue. I don't believe there's a world in which Larry Ellison funds One Battle or Sinners. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/15/b...

The answer is Married With Children, but I noticed that the name of one of these shows is also the name of an album by the alt-rock group The Dandy Warhols, and that makes sense.

Yes, I'm Black, you gotta relax.

Also, seeing old TV Guide pages is oddly comforting, much like old HBO Guide pages...
