Even through suppression, we are the heartbeat of this movement.

Now more than ever, it’s important to remember: Undocu immigrants are not helpless. We are not voiceless. We are remembering who we are. Mexican and Central American immigrants are rooted deeply in this land’s history — because this is our home. We are awakened.

As a kid who grew up on food stamps, Medicaid, and literally only went to college because I was Pell Grant eligible, it is horrific to see all the different ways Republicans want to destroy programs that were essential for my family’s survival.
