31 years ago a whole new quadrant of stories—stories of wonder, the strange, resilience—were opened up to us with the premiere of #StarTrekVoyager!

Voyager continued echoing through the #StarTrek franchise today. In 58 video essays, I argue Why Voyager! Check them out.

Something good came from Section 31.
The corridor and quarters seen inside #StarTrek #StarfleetAcademy's neighboring War College are repurposed set pieces from the SECTION 31 movie.

"Vitus Reflux" is an absolute blast. From Calica to prank wars and from laplings to those cute little whispering, repetitive plants ("Quietly now. Quietly now. Quietly now."), I am all in on #StarfleetAcademy! Here is my latest connective review for @trekcore.com.👍

I LOVE that DS9 gave us a Vulcan captain on a Vulcan ship at the end of “Vortex”!

Is this the only instance of a Vulcan captain on a Vulcan ship on a viewscreen in the TNG-DS9-VOY era? #StarTrek

Because somebody on Facebook doubted whether I had actually ever seen #StarTrek when I was writing about the re-used shot of Kiley as Bajor in #StarfleetAcademy's "Kids These Days":

Yes, I do know a little about re-used planet shots... ;-)

My daughter was on a field trip today. One of the guides at the location was named Kes, specifically named after the Star Trek: Voyager character. My daughter couldn’t wait to tell me.

Kes is actually a pretty great name.

The Klingon proverb quoted first in Klingon and then in English by Jay-Den Kraag in #StarfleetAcademy's "Kids These Days" was also used by Worf in #StarTrekTNG's "The Offspring" when he offered Riker to help him rescue Soren.

A Starfleet captain should never be just sitting around reading while on duty! 😉

As long as she keeps her shoes on most of the time, I’m good with how she sits. She’s a chancellor as well as the captain. We’ve not had such a character before.

But the shoelessness is too much for me. I still love this character, though!

The 2011 documentary The Captains is now available in YouTube in its entirety (I'm posting from the US, I'm unsure if the link works elsewhere). If you've never seen it, check it out! William Shatner sits down with each actor to portray a Trek captain up to that point.
