This episode gets its own Ma'ab-focused main titles, accompanied by a more peaceful, reflective version of the Lower Decks main theme.

Tomorrow evening I'm recording an episode of Make It So with @shelfnerds.bsky.social , we're going to be discussing Star Trek music. Does anyone have any favourite pieces of music heard in Star Trek across the 60 year history? They can be theme tunes, songs, background music, orchestral scores.

Michael exemplifies everything it means to be a Starfleet Captain; duty bound, selfless, principled. And at the same time is a unique character unto herself. The effort by some of paint her as unworthy will never hold water. She is Starfleet.

Playing back scenes from TNG ahead of an episode of @jeanlucpodard.bsky.social with @shelfnerds.bsky.social and saw this moment in 'Best of Both Worlds' and was struck by how odd the camera angle was. In the previous shot, Data was stood there too but I'm surprised they didn't pan down.

#Notevember A Favorite PIC Track

Although the Soji and Narek plot hasn’t always been my favorite aspect of Picard’s first season—although it has grown on me a great deal—the track “Soji and Narek Waltz” remains a musical highlight of the series.

#Notevember Day 22: A Favorite PIC Track - "Make It So"

This is my favorite scene from the current Trek shows. When the S3 soundtrack came out, I recall playing this track a lot.

"Klingon bastard you've killed my son..."

Lesser composers might have made a meal out of this moment. Horner let it play out in complete silence to tremendous effect.

#Notevember Day 19: A Favorite DSC Track

I've said many times that Season 2 of Disco is my favorite, and it's also my favorite in terms of scoring. Russo's "Red Angel" theme is a highlight, and it's heavily featured here.

(I also cheat with two other tracks)

#Notevember Oh, the jazz…

I love the smooth, chill flow of “I Only Gag When You’re Near Me” track by Ron Jones from TNG’s “Allegiance.” Just a piano, an upright bass, and some soft percussion is all you need.
