The funniest thing about my personal experience of Star Wars is that, with full honesty, one of the reasons I like The Rise of Skywalker so much is how I think it directly pays off so many of the ideas and plot points in The Last Jedi.

What I like about it is that I don't think Peter Murphy is a vampire but I do think if you were an actual vampire in the late 80s and you saw this video, it became your whole personality.

Oh, as a child I loved Star Wars novels. Read the whole line until the New Jedi Order stuff. But now I simply can't go back, because again, it's an aesthetic experience I'm coming to Star Wars for, and the books are almost wholly divorced from that.

Like if I ranked these films as concepts on paper they'd go much higher. Its the practice of them that's so utterly disagreeable to my personal sensibilities.
And vice-versa the Sequels, I know a lot of folks bounce off of those, but fuck me, red arm on C-3PO? Give it to me. Babu Frik? Omnomnom.

I don't begrudge anyone loving the Prequels, they just don't give Star Wars to me in a way that nourishes the part of my heart that gets nourished by the Star Wars that clicks with me.
I think my ultimate position is that they're much more enjoyable to talk about than to directly experience?

My joke answer is that good Star Wars has jackets and bad Star Wars has robes, but I think the bit of truth in there is that I have particular aesthetic needs in terms of appearance, pacing, and characterization that the Prequels are just utterly uninterested in fulfilling for me. And that's fine!

I popped it off to make a clean 100; it was above "The Pit" and below Star Wars Hunters, because its an enjoyable mess, yet somehow still doesn't rise to the level of "Two Jawas in a trenchcoat" silliness.

Think I'm ready to start following folks on social media again. A while ago, I stopped following folks to control the amount of bad news that was coming into my perception. I think I'm in a better emotional place to deal with that, and I really want to start making friends online again. So, slowly?

I don't know! I don't think even JJ Abrams likes TROS as much as I do, it's a real anomaly. I've spent many hour in solemn contemplation and deep soul searching; part of it is the high puppet content, but that's all I can figure so far. It's a mystery to be sure! I wouldn't recommend this position!
