Hard not to think about what the future could have been for Matt. He was unstoppable, and I was looking forward to the kinds of manga he'd be working on in five, ten, or twenty years. He had so many books he was passionate about, so much he wanted to share with others, and such an infectious energy.

just a few days ago he was still doing his best to get work done and even help me with things... I suddenly felt the urge to message him some words of gratitude for all his done for me so far for some reason... I hope he was able to read them and know he was appreciated

Matt was the first person to give me an opportunity in the manga industry and for that I'll forever be grateful to him. But besides that, he was a really kind and altruistic person and you could feel his passion for manga. I'm really sad I'll never get to chat with him again...
