💔 A 7-year-old boy was killed by Russians during today's strike on Zaporizhzhia.

Relatives said his father, who is currently in hospital in critical condition, spent three years in Russian captivity.

Truly we live in the most Trump-brained timeline. Maybe, just maybe the Nobel Prize committee gave María Corina Machado the peace prize on her own merits, rather than so as not to give Trump the award while making it impossible for him to criticise their choice.

⚡️Russia attacked Ukraine’s homes and energy grid overnight.

A 7-year-old boy was killed in Zaporizhzhia, at least 9 people were injured in Kyiv, and large parts of the capital were left without power.

I write full time largely because of one thread about getting high with the Irish president. As cringe as it is to admit, my entire life has been massively enhanced by Twitter and ketamine over precisely the same time that those two things have proven less beneficial for Elon Musk.

From Donald Trump's Roundtable on Antifa just now —
"Antifa has been around in various iterations for almost 100 years in some instances, going back to the Weimar Republic in Germany."

Oh no! Hope you feel better soon. I just watched Sirens on Netflix which I liked. If you like crime drama, Hidden Assets on iPlayer is good.

Right wing front pages today all feel a bit Iron Lady Theresa May in 2017 or those “now is the day Trump became presidential” don’t they.

Yes, at one point when the Morgan/Cook episode started I thought ITVx had selected a different show!

It was all good, well acted & well written, but it tried too hard to be clever and lacked an emotional heart.

The mother of this baby, Tetyana, was killed in a russian strike on Kyiv on Sept 7 — she suffered burns to 90% of her body.

Her premature baby, Nazar, miraculously survived emergency delivery and brain surgery. The father Vadym meets his son for the first time on Oct 7.

You might enjoy something I wrote about this, when Marianne Faithfull died, and how I accidentally saw her and a range of icons for £20 at a time when I survived on mung beans and lived in a house with no windows downstairs

One more thought - one of the issues with the whole story in the first place is that the hacking scandal felt very unreal and distant until we learnt what happened to the Dowler family. And the drama suffers from that too. Which is not to deny the harm done to people like Sienna Miller is horrendous

I know why they did it this way - goes back to what I said before. It’s hard to dramatise a journalistic investigation. It needs the fourth wall breaking narration to make sense of it all.

But as a drama to provoke empathy & outrage… it inhibits that because you’re distracted by the style.
