i feel like "infinitely generating AI waifus for a reasonably affluent demographic" hoping to skate by on whales handing your machine tens of thousands of dollars is a lot less viable than people think it is. this works for gachas explicitly because it doesn't require per-use maintenance costs

Yeah, I think its interesting how the reliance on algorithms and most peoples personal finances have gone over the last two decades, chasing trends to appeal to it has become far more acceptable as what a content creator has to do in order to get seen at all

i think it fits with how a fair amount of audiences look at sponsor reads. "selling out" isnt as reviled when everyones broke, and needing a corporate sponsor for a video (as opposed to proudly declaring you are owned by Viz Media or run a small business) just isnt viewed as a black mark anymore
