I like this nuance of Odo in Deep Space Nine. Starfleet constantly complains about security failures and then he constantly advocates for extreme measures to keep the station safe.

This is what we're up against. Bangor University, that fine and noble institution where I've spoken twice, nearly 150 years young and still going strong. The sheer hatred they reserve for us shows what could happen after 2029, but also that they're frightened of knowledge and learning.

There is one issue: people who menstruate are likely to have a weird period when exposed to CS. It was never tested for reproductive harm, and it seems to cause some. It does appear dose dependent, and it’s significant. UMinn published the paper in 2023.
