Progressive & disticntly left-leaning in a broad sense: conservation & sustainability, democracy & electoral reform, mutualism, intersectionality, market socialism, economic & social equity and critical thinking.

There's a healthy majority of people wanting the UK to rejoin - the current govt can do this & a majority of the electorate would appreciate it. For a party with support in free-fall Labour's leadership are displaying precious little instinct for survival, let alone working for the country.
As the granddaughter of a Dutch immigrant one would have hoped that Lam (presumably a beneficiary of this immigration) would have held a more generous view of immigration.
Again you're indulging in logical fallacies: at no point did I specifically say that Lam should consider the interests of immigrants before everything else & nor did I imply it. The same goes for where your loyalties lie: I did not mention them in any way - only you did. These are strawman arguments
The fella that played a major role in flat-lining our economy is going to write a column in the ST on economics? Huh.
LP in full-blown panic as they plummet in the polls yet unable to join up those tricky dots between their failing public support & their awful policies coupled with their mendacious behaviour.

The LINOs will never be able to accept just how badly wrong they have misjudged policies & public mood.
She absolutely is a hypocrite because she is the product of immigration - but that was not the argument you posted in your initial response which was to claim, "You make it sound as if immigrants' first loyalty must be to other immigrants ". That is a motte & bailey logical fallacy.

Rachel Reeves says she needs to raise taxes to “balance the books.” But that’s not how government finance works. In this video, I explain why the government’s job is to sustain spending power, not drain it.

Why most tax rises now would be economic madness

Tomorrow Thames Water goes bankrupt or Ofwat lets them raise their bills EVEN more.

Which do you think it will be?

What I found most disappointing is how they fell so quickly into the pattern of the last government.

Endless vacuous announcements, meaningless £x million pots scattered here and there and re-announcements are a self-soothing exercise. They impress only idiots and nothing is getting done.
The very real condition of government announcement-itis in which repeated claims of new investments, simplified regulations, public funds, and various other initiatives cumulatively don't actually add up to very much at all.

Going to be doing a lot of told-you-so in the immediate future.
Then you've misunderstand the post Ruslan: Lam is both deeply cynical & hypocritcal to make her repellent remarks.
Tory hypocrisy from the granddaughter of a Dutch immigrant.
You need to check what ED & LDs are up to: originally against digital ID now quietly dropped, softened stance on rejoining EU etc. 'Centrism' has not only failed it has led us to this place & now threatens to usher-in Reform & fascism. Sad expressions with unabated neoliberalism does not earn votes.
Nandy's hypocrisy remains her strongest defining characteristic and entirely unsurprising as one of the most prominent & long-standing members of the Blue Labour group.
I've been out to DC quite a bit over the years & learned at least some of the fascinating history of that building. Speaking as an athiest, Trump is going to hell.
Govt could always 'fix' this: the vast majority of people in the UK recognise that Brexit was an act of self-harm & allowing it to continue will only extend that harm. If govt wanted to bring the UK back into the EU they now have a comfortable majority willing to back it: question is, do they?

A defining feature of centrists in the UK, US, and France is they expect those to their left to eat shit while they court or appease the Right. No thanks!
How is it taking them this long to work this out?

Keir Starmer for several years: "If you don't like the Labour Party you can fuck off out of it lol yolo"

Keir Starmer now: "What you look at the Greens for that's fucked up man I'm literally right here wow just wow"
Govts create growth through spending, some sectors generate more than others (as I recall health has an investment multiplier of around 4). Understanding this & that govt as sole issuer of a fiat currency means that it can never run out of money & may create it at will taxing to to control inflation
Absolutely on the money as usual Nelly. Yes, Farage is the antithesis of free expression but so is Starmer. The OSA is yet more unjustifiable govt snooping.
