think i'm overall kinda disappointed in Hades 2. i think the decision to make everything Bigger just makes the whole thing unfocused, though it doesn't help that the narrative in this one just isn't very good. oh well

i've somehow contracted a Mystery Pain in my ear that is sore at literally all times but becomes agony when i open my mouth, meaning it's hard to talk and near impossible to eat. i hoped it would go away but it has gotten even worse as the day has gone on. doctor tomorrow pls help this sucks so bad

i get active tag is very important in this game so losing access to that is huge but it's part of why ToD Simulator is pretty unfun, even if "only" my point dies then the entire appeal of the game stops existing so to make up for it they've made a solo character into a nuclear bomb lmao

namely no motion inputs, level 3s being big flashy cutscenes that instakill you, solo fuses that turn the game into ToD simulator, comeback mechanic tied to burst that makes no one burst until you're down to a solo because it makes you a ToD simulator

2xko is a really good video game with some of the individual worst decisions of all time thrown in there which are basically all to appeal to a playerbase that probably doesn't exist

now i wouldn't necessarily say that "video games should be frictionless and convenient and qol is an objective ideal that all developers should strive towards in all things" and "uncomfortable queer art shouldn't exist" are rhetorically related ideas but also i wouldn't say that they aren't
