supposedly it should all be fixed now. nobody believes them, but at least they are keeping us informed and admitting wrong-doing.
the interest-free "hardship loan" rollout was an unmitigated disaster. HR was grossly misinformed about how it was supposed to work. they told us any amount up to $1k would be immediately accepted, no questions asked. apparently that was not the case and people were getting denied left and right.
some people's banks are now not accepting payments from the company because of all the shenanigans last week. they flagged it as fraud.

on top of this, last week one particular employee sunset a portion of the system on our end well before he was supposed to, which is why the issues got even worse. also, prevailing wage team and payroll are now blaming each other for the pw issues, which supposedly go back years.

finally got some insight into the technical issues at play. old payroll system supposedly had a ton of one-off fixes and band-aids over the years to get it working properly that didnt get properly translated over to the new system. unsurprisingly documentation and communication were severely lacking

most have been paid up to date but some have not. payslips continue to be completely fucked up.

we got an explanation for the reversed transactions. supposedly they accidentally put a batch of payments in twice. they intended to cancel the 2nd one before it went through, but due to a "miscommunication" with the bank, they ended up cancelling both payments, 1 of which already went through.

one particular person somehow got massively overpaid, to the point that their taxes, health insurance and 401k are now all fucked up in a way that cant be simply reversed

not necessarily a sitcom but Meadow and Finn are easily my least favorite TV couple
With Valentine’s Day coming up… what’s your LEAST favorite romance in a sitcom?

i keep doing this thing where i unconsciously use the same word twice in a post. it freaks me out every time.
kinda forgot about this idiotic project. for 1000+ apartment units, the owner of the company thought it would be a good idea to install a central tankless, steam-to-hot water system. if you know anything about building automation, you know that is profoundly idiotic.
oh im quite familiar, i worked on programming and commissioning the (incredibly poorly designed) hot water system in those apartment towers
