Another day, another example of these thugs commandeering the government for their personal use.
This article heavily implies that ICE is being used in a custody dispute to help Karoline Leavitt's brother get his son and have the mother locked up in ICE detention
"A woman with a family connection to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Revere, Massachusetts."

Insane that we have to rely on court after court to just maintain a basically functioning democratic society.

This was bound to happen. Sounds like it was social engineering rather than hacking. Shows that all the OPSEC rules about not revealing personal info are really important as are making sure people don't advocate overt violence on those threads.

And Trump likely sees in Mamdani what he always wanted himself: to go from being a Queens outsider to a Manhattan insider. (2/2)

In the Oak Park neighborhood of Detroit, Michigan, on November 17, 2025, an ICE goon tased a non-resisting woman and then threw her non-responsive body into his truck like a rag doll.

If women are underrepresented in STEM, it's at least partly because men like this offer mentoring, then embarrass themselves by assuming their mentees must be into them, then decide the best solution is to cut ties, which sends the signal to other faculty that the mentee must not be good enough.
The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.

Nice - Charlotte is already in the streets! Hope they are handing out whistles too! Fuck Bovino and his goons.
Protesters have gathered in Uptown Charlotte to speak out against Border Patrol earlier today.

The cruelty of the propaganda is nowhere near the actual physical cruelty, but it is so craven and evil it makes the bruising that much worse.
Also in here: DHS responded to the faith-led protest yesterday, calling participants “violent rioters” and “imbecilic morons” who need to “get a job.”

Asked about the statement, one UMC pastor who participated in the protest told me: "This is our job." religionnews.com/2025/11/15/a...

ICE isn't leaving, but very glad to see Bovino go. Also, a review of some of the recent court cases that show he actually did nothing but bring terror to our communities and harm to many of our residents.

"Constitutionally Indefensible" - That appears to be the new tagline for the Republican party. Unfortunately, 30% of U.S. Americans would still vote for them.

"This just in, criminal thugs are finding it easy to impersonate criminal thugs in order to do criminal thug stuff."
This really hasn’t gotten enough attention this week.

For all their bluster, the DOJ couldn't even get a misdemeanor conviction out of this case. But I really wish we could get Cecily Strong to deliver Pirro's line here: "Even children know when they are angry, they are not allowed to throw objects at one another."

Can we please elect all new pundits as well?
score one for "the pundits are projecting their own preoccupations onto the electorate"
Earle-Sears ran what felt like 12 billion ads about how much she hated trans kids and I didn’t hear a single pundit say she should stick to real issues that affect real people.

I didn't know this. But it is great news considering UVA was the only school to cave.
To understand what was at stake here: in VA, the AG gets to appoint university counsel. From Jim Ryan’s forced resignation to the (mercifully) reject “Compact” to the odious and bizarre “settlement,” UVA has been hamstrung by counsel chosen by the state’s GOP administration. That’s about to change.

Zohran Mamdani wins!

He ran on an unabashedly pro-transgender platform, stood up for the most vulnerable, as so many have pushed for the Democratic Party to abandon trans people in order to win.

Major win for trans New Yorkers - he has vowed for intense resistance to anti-trans Trump policies.

After years of decline, 18–29-year-olds delivered a 35-point margin for @SpanbergerForVA — the biggest for Dems since 2017.

Older voters barely moved, but young voters anchored the Democratic turnaround.

Li 👏 sten👏up👏Dems👏. Even the mythical dudes you claim to be chasing don't want the GOP-lite crap you been selling. Stand for something!
but all of this is super promising

All of this and especially the last part. james carville and company can go back to sleep in their crypt. Their zombie ideas are dead
I am no longer employed so I'm not blogging Zohran tonight but I can just repeat exactly what I said in June :-)

he won on the back of a pro-migrant, pro-trans, pro-working class campaign. and also: Dem pundits are full of shit
The Democratic Party Needs to Learn from Zohran Mamdani's Guts and Backbone
Zohran Mamdani did something different, and it made all the difference.

The New Culture Bari Weiss is bringing to CBS is built on obsequiousness to the billionaire class in general. So it is no surprise that their first interview with Trump in five years is edited to make him look as fashionably fash as possible.

I know that D'Souza wasn't born yesterday, because he's been apologizing for right-wing racists for decades. But it would be nice to imagine he's finally waking up. Maybe others will follow.
A shocking report that pervasive racism has been discovered in the Republican Party.

Some thoughts on the recent shifts in the U.S. media environment, particularly the role of billionaires like the Ellison's in buying media entities for ideological not just profit seeking reasons. They are amassing a new propaganda machine, as we see at CBS today.
