With regard to toxic drug poisoning deaths, First Nations women died at 8.5 times the rate of other BC women in Jan-June 2025 and First Nations men died at 4.6 times the rate of other BC men in the same period. The toxic drug crisis is also colonial and solutions are being suppressed by government.

I'm uniquely qualified to endorse this statement because I work for public transit (ferry) and as part of that, direct car traffic. the wild and bizarre stuff i see from the walk on passengers is always fine compared to how the cars are trying to smoosh me to death every day
i think if you ride public transit enough you learn that most weird behavior is not dangerous, and conversely i think driving a car teaches you that everyone is trying to kill you at all times
