So, @criticalrole.bsky.social's Beacon.tv uses the sparkles emoji for rating vids, and @dropout.tv uses it on their mobile app for the "New" tab, and why shouldn't they - both make sense. But jeez it makes me jump every time I see it and go "Oh no please don't" before I realize it's not AI-related

That "resistor" account sharing a genAI video (faking a reporter being detained by ICE) and then shutting down their comments after everyone tried to tell them, is precisely why I block those accounts on sight.

They pretend to care, but they don't. All they want is for their numbers to go up.
