From the bow of a sailboat in southern Chile, I felt the biting cold and heard ice cracking in the fjord. The chaotic, fractured glacier, so close yet indifferent, stuck with me more than the obvious moments. It felt alive, pressed against an unexpected forest. One of my fave 15 photos of the year.
