I’ve been shamed a lot for being a fast writer, but I’d happily put 95% of my books up as proof of quality. The other 5% aren’t BAD but like…nobody bats 100 lol

Focus, good habits, and a lifelong novel writing habit can take you far.

I spent a few years publishing 6-10 books a year. It’s not as hard as it sounds if you’re writing in a series (episodic, don’t need fresh worldbuilding every time) and if you deny yourself other hobbies.

My relaxed non-depression hole writing rate is 2-3 books a year.

Authors, in the interest of helping readers spot gen ai 'authored' books, how many novels do you publish a year?

I publish one 80-100k+ word (epic fantasy) novel, and I can only do that because I drafted 8 novels before I started publishing any. 📚💙

I am not exactly sure how to keep my lips moisturized while this thing heals

Also I should have chosen a barbell with smaller balls (it has to be overlong to accommodate swelling)

I think I will love it when I can switch it for a ring

Reading lit mag submissions that come from other countries, from authors who are likely not writing in their first language, is just amazing to me. Writers are amazing.

i love when i spend hours straight trying to design a cover or something, and come up with absolutely nothing that i like

it's not that it's unpleasant work, but it's the biggest blueball at the end to have no result and no more ideas

i still can't believe i'm almost the same age as stephen miller

it's not even like...i don't think i look young. and if i actually look at his face, he doesn't look super old.

he just SEEMS like he should be one of the Nazis from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and thus ~85 years old

my 10yo burst into tears when he saw me with it. he'd asked me not to get it. i gently explained i was going to do whatever i wanted with my body, but he was still very sad and worried about mommy's face. "you have a HOLE in your MOUTH."

i just think hannibal is the most incredible character to experience. because he's bad! unforgiveably bad! and beyond evil! a complete bastard! and also he's lonely and needy and filled with wistful yearning and these specific things are heartbreakingly relatable even while he's a COMPLETE MONSTER
