Weirdly feeling like I lost an integral part of myself when I released Broken Sky (almost four years ago!) because that story existed part-formed in my head for more than half my life at that point, and now I can't just restart Broken Sky from scratch out of boredom like I did for much of my 20s

There are some things that really do require a certain amount of class privilege to be able to afford to do the "ethical" version, like buying organic food for instance. However, choosing not to use AI is, in fact, free.

Being fully aware that I've written such a plot myself, I keep encountering books where the main character's allegedly dead parent is -- surprise! -- still alive and also maybe evil or at best morally gray. I really never thought about what a common trope in fiction that is.

I think people on here maybe don't realize that Jeff Bezos hasn't been directly involved with Amazon for several years. He's still a dipshit, and the new is an even bigger dipshit if you can believe it, but it's important that people realize they're off being dipshits separately

This is great news! Part of the reason I've been hesitant to use Bookshop in the past is lack of books by indie authors but looks like they've just made it way easier for us to be on there

looking at alternatives for cloud storage besides icloud and onedrive and dropbox and someone is like "Here's this software where you can host your own server" and I'm like "That is a lot of effort to miss the point, if I have to keep the data in my house I'll just buy an external hard drive"

I'm gonna give it more time but I'm sadly not sure if I'm vibing with Clair Obscur Expedition 33, there's just so many tiny quality of life annoyances, like the inability to save whenever, and the fact that there's no mini-map for the individual areas so I keep getting turned around and backtracking
