Republicans are scared AF about #NoKings Day -- calling it a "Hate America Rally" a bunch of "radical left terrorists" lol

So, let's be sure we show the communities we gather in that WE LOVE AMERICA and that's why we are taking it to the streets

Bring flags 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I especially ❤️ the patches on the chair arm.
Been around the block together a few times, huh?

They are! the most mine do with <mouse-size things is intently look at and visually track them…which at least gives me clues about where to go with the swatter or lizard-catcher 🫤

They are not planning "a violent crackdown" on 10.18. What they are doing is sending a signal to their shock troops to try to cause havoc. But those shock troops will be vastly outnumbered. Go out and protest freely. Do not be cowed.

Trump and Stephen Miller want us afraid, but we’re not backing down. We will see you in the streets on October 18: www.nokings.org?SQF_SOURCE=i... #NoKings

We also need slow, earnest anthems (a la ‘we shall overcome’).

How about “it’s Not Easy Being Green”?
capped off with ‘The Rainbow Connection”
🥰

Group cohesion forces also important here; shared expressed rage can be a strong glue, but ganging up in boisterous mockery very easily taps into deep-seated impulses from childhood 😝

…and perhaps best of both (rhetorical) worlds is when regime uses gratuitous force against absurdist non-violent citizens —as when an agent sprayed pepper spray directly into PDX-Frog’s air vent

💯 Even pre-PDX Frog, we proponents of a United Dance Party Front (or similar) r not just working from some hopelessly naive boomer playbook.

Absurdist non-violent mockery —with boisterous energy *shared with one another*—exposes Regime lies and reduces storm-troopers to ridiculous superfluous puds

Dire as the stakes are, leaning into absurdist and lighthearted forms of protest seems like a great way to puncture the fantasy Trump & co are spinning to attempt to rationalize a violent crackdown.

As the administration goes all in on an alternate reality about portland that bears no resemblance to fact and rule of law, continuing radical (and just plain funny, ridiculing) acts of the imagination along with other ways of getting out the reality on the ground may help curb their momentum.
