Question for those interested in Norwegian climate policy: do you have a “go-to” for a historical overview of Norway’s climate policies, say from 1985 until today? Looking for a list!

Question for fellow climate scholars, regardless of academic discipline: I'm working on the issue of time/temporality in climate knowledge, policies, decisions, etc. From politics to geological periods, decision processes to climate dynamics: any good tips for readings that deal with temporality?

Building roads and infrastructure is insanely expensive, takes time to finish, and so on. We know.

But why do we not question the premise for the entire idea of Hordfast? What IS the argument for seeing Bergen, Stavanger and everything in between as one integrated region? www.nrk.no/vestland/sa-...

"Scientific asylums" for US academics in Europe? It's happening.

I think I like it, but it is oh so important to remember to be just as forthcoming when equally deserving academics holding other passports knock on our doors! www.khrono.no/300-forskere...

86% of students that grew up in Oslo and attended higher education there, still resided in the city one year after finishing higher education. I'm thinking the up-and-comers of Oslo may well need to broaden their horizons a little! www.khrono.no/vokser-opp-i...

Det er vår felles kyst. Equinor sitt oljeutslipp.

Equinor now starts using the Gulf of America instead Gulf of Mexico. Explains their idea of sustainability, perhaps.

Everyone likes a good and reliable weather forecast.

Have anyone ever heard of any political party or campaign that took a clear stand against weather forecasting?

The US was suppose to have a robust political system, but when it is possible to dismantle weather forecasting than anything goes.

This geopolitical dumbfuckery has to end. I'm afraid the narcissistic kindergarten behavior, the disgraceful rhetoric and complete lack of insight into what the world actually looks like will have consequences well beyond what the US, Europe, and certainly Ukraine can handle by "making deals".

Book burning?
If everything was digital in Hitler's 1930s Germany, this is what his book burning would have looked like: deletion of data, removal of websites, retraction of scientific studies, censorship of words like "equity," "diversity," "climate change."

«Globally, cities in the top 10 list of lost winter days include Fuji, Japan; Turin, Italy; and Bergen, Norway, all of which lost more than 25 days annually»
Climate change means fewer days of winter in big Canadian cities, with Toronto and Vancouver leading the (thawing) pack.

This is a great research project - environmental data is often rolled up into regional or national summaries that become meaningless. Community-level data tells a big story.
Think Toronto’s winters aren’t like they used to be? A new report details how — and why — they’ve changed
A new report says Toronto has gained an average of 13 days above freezing annually over the last decade.
