One thing I definitely learned from 2025 is that some folks think it's better to commit to being "nice" or "professional."
But these are not the attributes you remember people by. Especially when they're not around to be "nice" or "professional" anymore.
You remember their actual character.

One of the most liberating lessons I learned in therapy is that it's always better to be a good person than a nice person.
It's a difficult lesson, obviously, but one well worth investing in learning. I'm still working on fully deprogramming myself, too, so I speak from a solidarity place.
