So in Steve-news, I handed in my corrected PhD at the weekend, and on Monday got the news that the corrections had been accepted and I'm Dr Steve. So that's nice.

Ten f'king years. Been napping a lot this week.

uhm, is anyone else getting the 'subscribe to meta for £2.99 a month to not see ads' thing? Any conversations happening on Bluesky about it? Analysis? what gives?

Well, it’s the 9th anniversary of this today. No special reason for mentioning it now, obviously

I swear the chatgpt prompt for 90% of what I see on FB these days is "simplify the Wikipedia entry about ******* and add a bunch of random vaguely believable lies for absolutely no reason other than clicks."

It's insane how many outright lies are being shared by otherwise smart people 😬🫣

just put the full version of my Bruno Mars reharm on YouTube... partly as an experiment to see if it gets taken down... No idea how copyright works on things like that... Anyway, let's see if the people of the YouTubes enjoy it :)

People saying that everything went to shit when Bowie died seem to be forgetting everything the Tories did from 2010-2015.

Let's see if I can actually manage to post a video here 🤷🏽

Digging through my PhD notes for ideas that might be useful. Here's a little thing on the distinction between "user generated content" and what I've called "community originating context" :

From UGC to Community Originating Context
Alongside putting my longer Facebook posts on here this year, I'm also going to dig into the notes I took during my PhD and share any insights that might be hidden in there.

Why DIY is a Methodology not an Ideology

I wrote this essay on Facebook on Jan 1st 2020. It's weird to read things from the before-times, but this one stands up as pretty solid spiritual and practical advice.
