So, I’m kind of tentatively branching out into podcast production, so here’s my pitch -

Obviously there are too many podcasts in the world, but as someone who listens to a lot of them, my great issue is that - even among some of the prominent ones - the production values often aren’t very high.

All the defences I’ve seen have been ‘you have to change the situation from within’ which, given the contract they signed (and who got booted off the bill for breaching it) makes no sense at all.

Monmouth! Go early, there’s a permaqueue!

Go for a medium roast first, and then see whether you think it feels too dark or light.

If you go to a place and buy the beans in person, you might well get to try a few too.

Anyway, she’s currently being blocked by about fifty people per minute according to clearsky. It always, always pays to be a bit more… normal?

You see it again and again online, sometimes from people who have actual reputations to uphold, and it never gets any less fascinating.

The *total* inability to go ‘oh silly me, my bad’.

Really good example of Poster’s Disease - outwardly seems like a right-on account but is actually just addicted to numbers. Provably so: shutting people out who are pointing out the lie, and just posting through it.

this person posted an AI video (the reporter has three arms, for a start) and then turned off comments when people pointed it out, so i have to insist everybody block them. block this account right now and i'll give you a thumbs up in your mind

Seems like they are going after reporters who are women. They hit one w/pepper spray ammo in her car, the WGN reporter and now this.

Other way round for me: if I was to buy coffee as good as what I keep at home it would be REALLY expensive (and not available near where I live).

I still find it hard to believe that a party which has dominated British politics for centuries is dying. And the most extraordinary thing is that one charlatan, who has never held significant power nor any kind of vision, is destroying it.

I’m following the advice of all those right wing columnists and trying to be more organised at taking a coffee out with me rather than buying one. It won’t save me enough to buy a house, but I’m putting 27kr in an account each time I’d have bought one and it’s going to be… lots.

Totally this. I know all reporting gets weaponised but some kind of approval process seems really necessary where quite serious perhaps even illegal violations are so commonplace.

Different I suspect. That was so specifically brutal cause it was caused by lending. But I’m no expert. God knows.

Get ready for a 2008 again. Seems fairly locked in now.

Trump: "AI is based on information. I hope they're right about information. I don't know. You've gotta make a lot of money to-- there's gotta be a lot of information out there, but that seems to be pretty hot. We're leading the world on information on AI."

Remember that immediately post January 6th it was all contrition and condemnation. There’s no way this holds, I promise.

He’s going to talk about this on a daily basis for like a decade now, and it’s going to change to make it that it was really him who won. A well trodden path.

Trump: "The person who actually got the Nobel Prize called today, called me, and said 'I'm accepting this in honor of you, because you really deserved it.' A really nice thing to do. I didn't say 'Then give it to me, though.'"

It’s always the rub - they’re the only reason we know anything, and yet they’re inconsistent in reporting everything.

Trouble it’s now nigh on impossible to google whether he did or didn’t say this, or whether I’ve misremembered, so even for someone who fairly closely follows the news, everything is a little foggy.

Didn’t Trump already say on the record that he approved of the shutdown cause it meant they could lay off public sector workers? That should be the headline, let alone not mentioned in the article.
