I’m not sure how much longer you can go ‘it’s just Trump being Trump.’

I know it sounds alarmist, but the global far-right influence project is huge, and influential. The influence of the USA has always been dangerous and oversized but it feels like Vassal States are basically part of the plan now

Thing is as long as it’s only bots who do a backlash against the backlash too, and maybe only bots who click on the news articles about it all, then maybe we can just rest easy. The bots can do all the moral panic shit, and we can just get on with admiring one another’s dogs and talking about music.

Quentin Tarantino strikes me as someone who may well have been advised by a very highly paid and wise public relations person that going ‘full manosphere’ might not be a good idea.

I have some thoughts about this, which I've seen going round, but the core of it is that this is actually pretty similar to the tone and construction that I, as a book editor with a decent ear, associate with AI. Is it not pretty flattering? Doesn't it feel snappy and smooth-edged? Am I paranoid?

A new CNN report uncovers that the IDF knowingly:
•Shot starving Palestinians trying to collect flour
•Bulldozed their bodies into shallow, unmarked graves
•Left them to decompose, scavenged by dogs
•Never documented these murders & tried to hide them

This is what genocide looks like. Horrific.

Discussions of streaming within mainstream journalism tends to be v surface level (even this article contains what appear to be several huge clangers) but the overarching message here - that if you self release music you make LOTS more per stream, is important.

The Night Manager, but instead of it being a secret that MI6 are trying to uncover and put an end to, they’re just out there advertising it in PR copypastes in the wall st journal.

Yup, it’s barbaric.

And the idea that meta and rayban are selling what’s essentially a hidden camera is so unbelievably creepy, especially given that the entire market appears to be weirdly suspect men.

More glasses smashing, pls.
In terms of what’s understood to be socially acceptable behavior, normalizing the filming/taking pictures of people in public who are minding their own business (and putting it online) is one of the worst developments of the past 15 years.

I know that if you’re very online, it being constantly pointed out that Farage is a lifelong racist seems like stating the obvious, but to a lot of reform swing voters, the idea that they’re openly endorsing racism is taboo. It might be at the margins, but this story is a pain for Farage.
