Lydia Greenaway, Karen Smithies, Kathryn Leng and Caroline Barrs the English lefty batters who have scored more ODI runs than Linsey Smith. As Barrs only managed 12 she might well pass her later this tournament.

Linsey Smith out in the middle for England at No.10, which makes her the first left-handed batter to face a ball at a World Cup for England Women since Lydia Greenway in 2013.

By ending 5*, she becomes England's fifth-highest left-handed run-scorer at Women's World Cups, ever.

Yeah, it's a difficult balance. Ideally you want as much continuity as possible, but equally you need to allow the weaker teams a chance to compete, rather than pay for 6/7 years because they cocked up the first auction. But I agree that it is an issue with franchise cricket.

Yeah, obviously her form since has not been stellar, but she was the second highest run scorer in the last edition, and averaged 93. Plus she's the sort of player who's contribution in the dressing room needs to be taken into account.

Day 3 of the Men’s T20 World Cup Asia & EAP Qualifier. Nepal and Japan already through to the Super 6. UAE, Oman, Qatar and Samoa are likely to join them, but Malaysia beating UAE or PNG beating Oman would mean NRR coming into play.

Yeah, what I was thinking is, you are Mumbai, you want to retain all of Sciver-Brunt, Matthews and Kerr. They retain 2 of them plus Harmanpreet, and maybe Amanjot. If they were going to retain a 5th player it'd have to be uncapped, but if they chose rtm then could they get the third overseas?

Hey @supertrampms.bsky.social - do you know if teams can use the RTM for a player who they can't retain - eg a 3rd overseas player - or does the retained/RTM combined have the same limits of 2 overseas and 3 capped Indian players?

Yes, I agree generally but seam bowling isn't really a Surrey strength and Stonehouse should be playing ahead of pretty much every other seamer they have with the possible exception of Macdonald-Gay. There was a lot more competition for Jones. That it's only a 1 year loan suggests some bet hedging.
