The human mind needs rest, just like any part of the body. This push towards making every action that you do explicitly productive to you or others reeks of the latent effects of late-stage capitalism, which is probably why so many people feel burnout nowadays.

It's utterly self-destructive.

I don't think I'll ever get behind the mantra that "It's good to be busy". It's one thing to keep our minds preoccupied with things to do, but the expectation that we "have" to do so feels utterly miserable to me as it doesn't seem like a particularly healthy way to pursue or achieve goals.

It's amazing how creative all of these hacks & mods have become over the years. The sheer amount of creativity on display can honestly be on par with some official releases & I'd love to see some of these mods get fully complete in the future.

It's been a while since I've played some good ol' Sonic & with the Sonic Hacking Contest making its way I figured it'd be a great time to do so.

There are days where my body & mind just completely shut down because I'm so overwhelmed with my depression. You have no idea how many times I've contemplated about putting an end to it all, for better or worse.

The fact that I'm still even here, in spite of this daily struggle, is a miracle.

Struggling with mental health is nothing to be ashamed of. It's a lifelong battle that a lot of us have to contend with in some form or another. That's why it's important to understand that there are plenty of people out there who share the same struggles as well.

I'm still rooting for Dynamite Headdy since that game rules and it's been almost a decade since its last showing, but these are definitely better submissions overall compared to SGDQ.

Even if I don't get in, I'd love to push some of these further at other events.
